Реферат: Particles for e.g. a particle accelerator are produced using an electron cyclotron resonance ion source consisting of a cylindrical cavity (1), magnets (6) for confinement of the plasma in the axial direction and a hollow conductor (14) for introducing HF radiation. The longitudinal axis of the hollow conductor is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cavity and is located over a coupling slot in a position symmetrical to the centre of the cavity. The cavity is pref. a metal tube, the end faces of which are closed by flanges (4,5) with openings for gas inlet (10) and evacuation. Length and internal circumference of the cavity are a whole-number multiple of the wavelength of the HF radiation.
