Fixed-chamber apparatus for granular materials.-In a feeding appliance for horses &c., measured quantities of different kinds of food are supplied singly or together to a common feeding trough having a perforated bottom. A hopper is divided into three compartments having passages, contained in a box F, which lead to a passage S communicating with a trough R. Regulating slides J, K, L are provided in the box passages, and the passage S also has a regulating slide X. In the passages I adjustable partitions N<1> are hung on pivots having handles N and are provided with horizontal and vertical legs m, n. To supply a measured quantity of food from one of the passages I, the partition N<1> is so adjusted that the space between the front of the passage I and the leg n, including the space from the slide J to the slide X, contains the desired quantity. The passage of the food to the trough may be regulated by a slide T. The central bin, containing bran, is fitted with a stirrer P and a centrally-pivoted door M, provided on the inside with a shelf upon which a measured quantity of food or medicine may be placed.
