[Class 20 (iv).] Wired brickclay or like openwork plastercarriers are strengthened by means of a skeleton of iron or steel bars c, d. As shown, the bars c of one set are formed with loops f which are inserted through the fabric and threaded by the rods d of the other set, which are arranged on the other side of the fabric. An outer frame may be provided, to which the rods c, d may be welded, and the rods may also be welded at their points of intersection, if desired. In a modification, the rods of one set are thinner than those of the other, and these are threaded through the fabric so that alternate sections of a given rod are on opposite sides of the fabric. In the construction of walls in steel-framed buildings, the frames carrying the fabric may be spotwelded to the frame of the building, and two of the reinforced fabric sheets may serve as shuttering for concrete which is placed between them.
