The plant comprises two cooling-sheds with a sweating- chamber between them, together with two carriages arranged in tandem, so that while one carriage is in its cooling-shed the other is in the sweating-chamber. The paraffin is run on to water contained in trays mounted on these carriages, and is allowed to solidify in the cooling-shed. The carriage is then run into the sweating-shed, and, after the operation is complete, is returned to the cooling-shed, where the purified wax is allowed to solidify before removal. The wax and water are fed to the trays by means of flexible tubes in the cooling- sheds which connect the supply pipes to a vertical standard with branch pipes provided on the carriages.
