Improvements in or relating to liquid spraying apparatus
Реферат: 877,033. Spraying apparatus. AMCHEM PRODUCTS Inc. July 25, 1958 [Dec. 3, 1957], No. 24047/58. Class 69 (3). Spraying apparatus, for spraying liquid without subjecting it to appreciable mechanical work, comprises a mechanical conveyer within a conduit delivering liquid through a discharge opening to a rotating disc from which it is spun off, the disc being axially movable on a driving spindle to open and close the discharge opening when rotation of the spindle is started and stopped respectively. As shown, liquid is delivered by a screw conveyer 12 through a boom 10 to a discharge conduit 18 and then to a flanged disc 52, the conveyer being driven by an internal combustion engine 16 and geared to a spindle 44 to rotate the disc. The disc is movable axially on the spindle 44 to coact with a ring 25 and form a valve which prevents discharge of liquid when the drive is cut off, a pin 64 on the spindle 44 engaging a helical groove 58 in the disc hub. On starting the motor the hub rides down the spindle through inertia until the pin engages an end part 60 of the groove parallel with the disc whereas, on stopping the motor, the hub rides up the spindle until the pin engages a similar groove 62. The spray boom may be mounted on a vehicle carrying a gravity feed liquid tank (not shown), the boom being pivotal in a horizontal and a vertical plane by means of hydraulic piston and cylinder assemblies 30 and 38. In alternative embodiments, the disc may have no flange and may be flat or dished, the conveyer may be an endless belt with flexible fingers acting as buckets and there may be separate driving means for the disc and conveyer. Specification 807,694 is referred to.
