Реферат: The invention relates to a power contactor (1) which has a first electric contact (3), a second electric contact (4), and a switching element (5) which can assume an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the switching element (5) contacts the first electric contact (3) and the second electric contact (4) together, and when the switching element (5) is in the open position, the first electric contact (4) and the second electric contact (4) are insulated from each other. The power contactor also has a current sensor (2) which is integrated into the power contactor (1) and which is designed to detect the current strength of a current flowing through the power contactor (1). The invention further relates to a method for checking the function of a power contactor (1).
