Реферат: The invention relates to a sprocket for chain drives, having a rotational axis D and having two groups of pockets (20, 30), which are arranged adjacent to one another and offset with respect to one another on the periphery of the sprocket, for chain links which pass the sprocket in an oblique position. Each pocket (20, 30) is delimited at the side by a side wall (24; 34) and by an opposing wall (26, 36) and in the peripheral direction by webs (31; 21). In order to be able to produce a sprocket for obliquely running-in chain links more easily, and to create a better force distribution, according to the invention the side wall and the opposite wall of a pocket form contact surfaces for the chain links, which contact surfaces run obliquely with respect to the rotational axis D and extend to a base section (25, 35) of the pockets.
