Apparatus for the production of coke and gas in horizontal chamber ovens
Реферат: 369,089. Horizontal chamber ovens. STILL, C., Recklinghausen, Westphalia, Germany. June 11, 1931, No. 17010. Convention date, June 19, 1930. [Class 55 (i).] In horizontal coke ovens, an apparatus is provided over the oven roof from which forming bodies are introduced through openings in the roof of the oven, to form gas withdrawal ducts in the charge, after which they are withdrawn upwards. Formers x, y, l are suspended by cords z from drums u on an axle j mounted on a support t running on rails s. The formers are lowered through openings k in the oven roof a, and, when they are of tubular form with perforations, may be left in the charge during carbonization, the distillates escaping through the perforations. The formers may be removed directly after their insertion, if the ducts e are sufficiently consolidated to remain without collapsing. The gases are withdrawn from the space g above the charge, and from the ducts e through outlets n or p leading to mains r, w respectively. Separate charging openings i may be provided, or the openings in the roof may be used both for charging and for inserting the formers.
