Реферат: In order to provide a variable cutoff printing press (10), the press includes a pair of plate cylinders (12a, b) and a pair of blanket cylinders (20a, b) with all of the cylinders having a cylindrical body (14a, b; 22a, b) and a central axis (16a, b; 24a, b) of rotation. The plate cylinders (12a, b) are each mounted perpendicular to at least one side frame (18, 26) in a fixed position such that the axes (16a, b) of the plate cylinders (12a, b) are maintained in spaced parallel relation. The blanket cylinders (20a, b) are also each mounted perpendicular to the side frame (18, 26) by a pair of linear slide assemblies (28, 30) such that the axes (24a, b) of the blanket cylinders (20a, b) are maintained in spaced parallel relation. The linear slide assemblies (28, 30) accommodate linear adjustable positioning of the blanket cylinders (20a, b) along spaced parallel adjustment axes (36, 38) generally in the plane of the side frame (18, 26). With this arrangement, the blanket cylinders (20a, b) are linearly adjustably positionable along and perpendicular to the adjustment axes (28, 30) to adjust the spacing between the plate (12a, b) and blanket cylinders (20a, b) to accommodate blanket sleeves of different thicknesses.
