Bucket pumps: drip, preventing.-Relates to pumps of the type described in Specification No. 7321, A.D. 1898, for delivering measured quantities of beer or other liquid without drip. The air vessel s, the size of which is calculated in the manner described in the above-mentioned Specification, is connected to the pump barrel c at a point such that the opening is uncovered when the pump bucket is in its lowest position. By this means, any liquid forced into the air vessel by the rapid descent of the bucket passes back into the barrel as soon as the bucket reaches its lowest position, so that a constant quantity of liquid is delivered at every stroke. The cocks above and below the air vessel for replenishing the air are dispensed with.
