Exhausting.-Relates to modifications in the ejectors described in Specification No. 1106, A.D. 1908, [Abridgment Class Injectors &c.], and consists in placing a deflecting and directing device in front of the jet orifices, and in contracting the eduction tube at intervals. Water or other suitable fluid enters at a, passes through the strainer f and issues from the holes m in the plate l. The jets impinge upon the cone n at 1 and are broken up and directed to the region 2 where they impinge upon one another forming spray 3. The gas and spray is then intimately mixed by passing through the contractions q in the tube o. When the apparatus is used for withdrawing air from steam condensers, bevelled slots may be used instead of circular holes for admitting the water.
