Реферат: 22,171. Jeffery, H., and Moxon, J. Sept. 28. Guards, mud.-Relates to detachable mud-guard stays for bicycles &c. Brackets A, having turnedover ends A<1> to form sockets for the stay, are threaded on the wheel axle, and secured by the usual clamping-nuts. The stay B is formed of trough-shaped wire, the centre portion b being flattened and pieced for attachment to the mudguard stay. A strengthening-liner H may be secured round the flattened portion by bending the stay round its ends as shown. The ends of the stay slide in the sockets A', being secured in position by springs D which engage the socket as shown. Pressure on the buttons D<3> releases the spring D, and enables the stay to be removed. Blocks B<1> prevent dirt &c. from travelling down the stay and clogging the spring. Further protection may be afforded by placing a tubular cap over the portion of the stay containing the spring.
