Реферат: This document provides methods and materials for assessing and/or treating mammals (e.g., humans) having mesothelioma (e.g., mesothelioma with a high junction burden). For example, methods and materials that can be used to determine whether or not a mammal having mesothelioma is likely to respond to a particular cancer treatment (e.g., immunotherapy with one or more immune checkpoint inhibitors) are provided. Methods and materials for treating a mammal (e.g., a human) having mesothelioma (e.g., mesothelioma with a high junction burden) where the treatment is selected based, at least in part, on whether or not the mammal is likely to respond to a particular cancer treatment (e.g., immunotherapy with one or more immune checkpoint inhibitors) also are provided.
