Bedsteads.-The bottom consists of two frames a<1>, B', a, B connected by dovetails and grooves and capable of sliding one on the other. The frame B' carries loops D and by means of set-screws D' can be clamped in any position on the frame B. The flexible laths J have holes K, H fitting over pins on the frame B<1> and can be removed and spaced apart as desired. A hinged flap L' covers a hole L for sanitary purposes. The bed can be swung as shown in Fig. 1, or be supported on hinged legs E as shown in Fig. 2. The legs have springs F for closing them when not in use. The head-rest is hinged and supported by struts N in racks 0. When the top frame B' is slid towards the foot the space left at the head is filled in with auxiliary strips J.
