Реферат: Tetraaminodiborons having the formula (RR1N)2B-B(NR1R)2, where R is hydrogen, a alkyl group having not more than six carbon atoms, or an aryl group and R1 is an alkyl group having not more than six carbon atoms or an aryl group, are made by reacting a compound of the formula (RR1N)2BX, where X is a halogen atom, with a metallic reactant constituted by an alkali metal, an alloy of alkali metals, or an amalgam of an alkali metal or of an alloy of alkali metals, this metallic reactant being in a form having a continuously-available clean active surface, for example in solid but dispersed form, or in liquid form. Sodium, alloys of sodium and potassium, and sodium amalgams are particularly useful. X is conveniently chlorine or bromine, but iodine or fluorine compounds are applicable. Specific reactants mentioned are B-monobromo and B-monochloro derivatives of bis(dimethylamino) borane, bis(diethylamino) borane, bis(n-propylamine) borane, bis(di-isobutylamino) borane, bis (di-n-hexylamino) borane, dianilinoborane, bis(p-toluidino) borane, bis(1-naphthylamino) borane and bis(diphenylamino) borane.
