There is described a grinding wheel ( 1 ), particularly for grinding operations carried out on sheets of glass ( 2 ), ceramic material or similar materials, comprising a disc-shaped support with abrasive material arranged on the circumferential profile of the support, and an opposing central hole ( 3 ) for attachment to a drive shaft ( 4 ) of the grinding wheel. The disc-shaped support comprises a pair of opposed disc-shaped grinding wheel bodies ( 5, 6 ) coupled in a facing position so as to define together the abrasive grinding surface ( 5 c, 6 c ) along the circumferential profile, and each of the disc-shaped bodies ( 5, 6 ) has a predetermined resilience such that the disc-shaped bodies ( 5, 6 ) can be flexed away from each other in the zone of contact with the component being ground, for the purpose of consequently applying pressure to the component in the grinding operation.

An abrasive disc for a multiple disc grinding machine is described, comprising a disc-shaped support having a circumferential rim on which the abrasive material is placed and an opposing central hole for fitting on to a driving shaft of the grinding machine, the hole extending through the thickness of the disc-shaped support. A portion of the central hole has a diameter greater than the diameter of the connection to the shaft, such that an annular chamber is formed in the thickness of the support. The disc includes at least one radial recess formed on a front surface of the disc-shaped support and extending from the annular chamber towards the circumferential rim of the disc, in such a way that a coolant fluid fed into the driving shaft can accumulate in the annular chamber and then flow through the radial recess towards the abrasive edge of the disc.

A grinding wheel is described, particularly for grinding work at a high feed speed, comprising a discoid body (2) between the axially opposed faces (2a, 2b) of which an outside wall (4) of cylindrical profile is defined, bearing the abrasive grinding material, and wherein the abrasive material is disposed circumferentially on the outside wall without a gap. The grinding wheel also comprises a plurality of ducts (7) extending radially in the discoid body (2), opening onto the outside wall (4) and also passing through the abrasive material, so as to constitute ducts for conveying a cooling and/or lubricating liquid onto the abrasive outer surface of the outside wall.
