The device for the producing of an air draft has air ducts (1) which are at least partially transparent and at least partially placed along the surface of the ground. The device may at the same time have electric current generating elements or other elements which uses the air stream for defined purposes, such as condensation centers for vapors or in the form of wind penetrable textiles which are placed at right angles to the air stream in order to win water from the air. The air duct preferably in the lower section may include a space which could be used to propagate plants as in a greenhouse.

The tower is assembled from sections (1) of textile fabric, sailcloth or plastics sheet secured at their bases to a toroidal pontoon (3) floating in a water trough (6). The updraught holds the structure erect with the aid of hot air. Outlet vents (5) in the top of the rotary structure can be controlled by the raising and lowering of small balloons (7) inflated with air or gas. The lower portion under partial vacuum may be mfd. of e.g. concrete to withstand external pressure. ADVANTAGE - An inexpensive and stable tower is less susceptible to serious damage.
