ICE FISHING TRAP

An ice fishing trap including first and second securement struts, each having a plurality of securement chain receiving first holes. The device also includes an adjustable crossbar engaging at least an aligned pair of first and second apertures in the securement struts, a support bar on a bottom end of the securement struts, a removable trap conforming to a diameter of an ice fishing hole and having a barrier, and a trap retaining latch. The trap is secured in an open position by the engagement of the trap retaining latch. As a fish is reeled in through the hole, the fish disengages the trap retaining latch which releases the trap into a closed position at a bottom of the ice fishing hole. The barrier prevents the fish from escaping if the fish falls from a hook. The support bar prevents the trap from falling below the ice fishing hole.

PORTABLE LIVE WELL/BAIT WELL FOR A BOAT

In a boat that was not designed for or required a live well, a built-in tank, for the holding of newly caught fish, a portable tank will serve as a live well that will hold fish that are caught and a bait well that would receive minnows or leaches. An electric pump powered by a battery of the boat or portable battery pumps water from the lake into the tank to fill, aerate and circulate the water in the tank. An electric pump powered by a battery of the boat or portable battery pumps water out of the tank and provides for overflow. A series of three valves control the water intake, water overflow and re-circulation of water in the tank. These operations are controlled by the open or closed combinations of the three valves. Keepnets allowing safer and easier release of fish retained therein with reduced danger of damage to the fish comprise a tubular net (1) open at one end (2) and closed at the other (3), the net having a rigid mouth-ring (5), a terminal ring at the closed end and a plurality of intermediate support rings (4) spaced along its length between the mouth-ring and the terminal ring. One of the intermediate rings (10) is of substantially rigid construction as opposed to the relative flexibility of the remaining intermediate rings (4). The rigid ring (10) is used as a secondary mouth when releasing the fish to reduce the length of net over which they have to be tumbled and thus the risk of damage to them. A container for fitting into a plurality of different sized live wells by the use of an easily adjustable live well bracket having a flexible netting secured to the bracket. ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Provided is a method capable of transporting live fish including shellfish for a long period of time and with less damage to the fish bodies. In order to immobilize said fish prior to transportation, one electrode is provided at the head portion of the fish, and another electrode is provided at the tail portion of the fish, whereby a current is allowed to flow between said electrodes to place the fish in an anesthetized condition, after which the spinal cord of the fish is cut. By this method, the live fish are immobilized. Then, only the fish are inserted through a fish insertion opening of a bag for transporting the fish, wherein at the upper portion of a bag formed of a material having water resistance and being thermally fused is formed, integral with said material, a web-like pouring tube for liquid with air or oxygen, and an insertion opening for fish, or fish and aqueous solution, at the side of the bag, said insertion opening being thermally fused, and subsequently water or sea water with air or oxygen is poured through the pouring tube and after this, the extreme end of the pouring tube is thermally fused to seal the interior of the bag, in which state the fish are transported.

This method involves the tank and pump “( 8 )” having a vertical mounting bracket “( 16 )” connected thereto; whereby the bracket “( 16 )” can be connected to a vertical surface on the bass boat “( 1 )”. The tank and pump “( 8 )” is pre-filled with the liquid live release formula prior to launching into a body of water via a refill cap “( 17 )” located on the top of the tank and pump “( 8 )”. The liquid live release formula is dispensed into the internal livewell “( 7 )” of the bass boat “( 1 )” via a spray nozzle “( 9 )” installed through the livewell “( 7 )” connected to the tank and pump “( 8 )” via a poly sprayer hose “( 10 )” intersected by an anti feedback valve “( 11 )”.
