A method of designing a custom footwear model based on a user model , the method comprising:receiving user data associated with a user, wherein the user data comprises dynamic data measurements of user movements;generating the user model based on the received user data and statistical foot data associating at least one type of foot characteristic provided in the user data with a different type of foot characteristic not provided in the user data, the user model comprising a model of a foot of the user;determining one or more issues specific to the user based on a comparison of the user model to one or more foot statistical shape models;determining one or more corrective features for addressing the one or more issues based on the comparison of the user model to the one or more foot statistical shape models, wherein the one or more corrective features comprise a microstructure having a size and position configured to address the one more issues; andgenerating the custom footwear model comprising the one or more determined corrective features, wherein a footwear part is created layer by layer based on the custom footwear model using additive manufacturing.2. A method of manufacturing a component for a shoe comprising the steps of:heating a sheet of material;stretching the heated sheet of material by moving a last into the sheet of material, wherein the last defines a shape of the component; andapplying at least one of a pressure lower than ambient pressure between the stretched sheet of material and the last to conform the sheet of material to the last and a pressure higher than ambient pressure over the stretched sheet of material to conform the sheet of material to the last.2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the component is a fully formed shoe upper.3. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising a step of fixing the sheet of material in a frame prior to heating the sheet of material.4. The virtual shape of knit product comprising plural parts and mutually divided in the knit data is simulated. The connection information regarding how said parts are mutually connected is obtained based upon the knit data or the pattern data of the knit product, and the plural parts are mutually based upon the obtained connection information. The virtual shape of the knit product is deformed by deforming the plural parts according to the forces acting on the plural parts. The present invention is a system and method for measuring and generating a customized foot orthotic insole that may be inserted into footwear, to reposition the foot to that referenced neutral position or as close to that position as the individual can tolerate. The present invention can scan, manufacture, and dispense the custom insole at an integrated station that can be located in a specialist's office, but also in retail space, malls, airports, etc. The invention allows a customer to have his or her foot scanned using different types of three dimensional scanning or pressure scanning devices, whereupon the information from the scan(s) is/are fed to a semi-automatic design system, where computer programs and specialized AI algorithms create a custom insole design.
