A universal modular key holder with a sliding mechanism allowing keys to be projected out of the key holder when using keys or retracted and stored within the key holder when not in use comprises a clip allowing users to attach commercially available keys to the key holder. The key holder is modular allowing users to customize it to individual needs depending on the number of keys needed, expanding or reducing the key holder as needed. The key holder also has a Light Emitting Diode (LED).

A key holder is disclosed which comprises a substantially planar body portion, a substantially circular ring having an open gap therein and rotatably mounted in substantially coplanar relation on the body portion, and a resilient tongue on the body portion. The ring is rotatable between a closed position wherein the open gap faces inwardly toward the body portion, and an open position wherein the open gap faces outwardly to permit the insertion of a key or the like on the ring. When the ring is in the closed position, the tongue normally extends into the gap to prevent the ring from being rotated. However, the tongue is resiliently deflectable away from the plane of the body portion to permit the ring to be rotated to the open position.

HOLDER FOR KEYS AND THE LIKE

Two elements are hinged together by one end thereof and are detachably locked by the other ends to form the key holder. The detachable locking/includes in one embodiment, a cylindrical member having a slot therein and being screw threaded on the outer surface. The engaging ends of the element are kinked or misaligned and will enter the slots. A closure nut is screw threadably engageable on the screw threaded outer surface of the cylindrical member thus closing the slot. The outer side of the nut is apertured to permit free rotation of the nut on the element but preventing axial disengagement of the element from the nut when engaged on the cylindrical member. Another embodiment is provided with detachable locks at each adjacent pair of ends of the holder with the slots on one side being a relatively loose fit to permit the other ends to be displaced sideways from one another when the lock of the one ends are disconnected so that keys can be removed or replaced upon the holder.

A key holder includes a generally flat base element whose length is substantially the same as or greater than the length of a conventional automobile or house key. One or more arms are hingedly attached at one end to an edge of the base element to fole in overlying relationship with the element. A key may be coupled to the free end of the arm in such a manner that the key can be folded generally flat against the arm between the arm and the base element. If more than one arm is provided, alternate ones of the arms are attached to one side of the base element and the remaining arms are attached to the other side so that when the arms are folded over the base, they lie in a generally parallel relationship to one another. In an alternative arrangement, keys may be held generally flat against the base element by a series of loops disposed on the element and into which the keys may be inserted. Loops are formed on both sides of the base element so that keys may be held in place on both sides.

The present invention relates to a two part quick connect-quick disconnect connector, which includes two parts, identified as a first part or “grabber” and a second part identified as a “dangle”. A key ring comprising a ring portion having a first end and second end, a rigid loop affixed to the first end, and a catch affixed to the second end for securely engaging and disengaging the rigid loop affixed to the first end is disclosed. The rigid loop and the catch can be typically disposed apart from each other with the ring portion in a relaxed state such that engaging the catch and the rigid loop holds tension between the first end and the second end to secure engagement of the catch and the rigid loop. This invention is directed toward a flat, washer-like key ring. In some embodiments, the key ring is substantially circular. It is distinct from prior art in that the key ring largely, or entirely, resides in a single plane, as opposed to being concentric circles overlapped one on top of the other. The key ring has a split line running through a portion of its body. The split line creates inner and outer segments along a portion of the plane of the body. The split line can be non-linear, in that it may not be a straight line. As such, the split line has protrusions and slots running along its length.
