The present invention affords a method and apparatus for autonomous fueling/refueling of numerous machinery operating at work sites such as an active fracking site. The system of the present invention includes a main fuel tank mounted on a frame and a plurality of fuel intake lines individually coupled to the main fuel tank. Pumps are connected to at least some, but not necessarily all, of the fuel intake lines. The pumps are coupled to hoses extending from the main fuel tank to the saddle tanks requiring fueling/refueling. The present invention further includes a refueling cap that is detachably connected to the hoses and configured to mate with the saddle tanks. This cap includes a pressure valve configured to open only in the presence of sufficient pressure input pressure from the hose, which prevents siphoning of fuel out of the saddle tank, for example if a hose becomes ruptured somewhere along its length. The refueling cap further includes a vent coupled to a fluid flow sensing valve and an electrical pass-through for a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor is coupled to the refueling cap and intended to be disposed within a saddle tank to provide a signal indicative of the fuel level within the saddle tank. The pressure sensor is further electrically connected to a wireless transmitter. The wireless transmitter provides signals to a controller for the pumps. A system comprising: a machine comprising: a local, wireless, peer-to-peer network with a unique network identifier and a unique machine identifier; an interface for enabling web browser-based communications over the network; a dashboard generator for providing a machine control dashboard for controlling operation of the machine over the network; and a gateway tag associated with the machine for wirelessly providing all of the information required to access the network and the machine control dashboard for the machine; and a portable device enabled for web browser-based communications over the network and configured to acquire the gateway tag and to use the information from the gateway tag to automatically connect to the network and the machine so that the machine control dashboard is displayed on the portable device, whereby to enable the machine to be controlled by the machine control dashboard displayed on the portable device.

A fuel authorization program based on equipping fuel station, fuel pumps, and vehicles with components to enable automatic fuel authorization for enrolled vehicles. The program includes fuel pumps including a pump transmitting sensor that automatically emits a pump ID. As a vehicle pulls in next to the pump a vehicle coupling receiving sensor detects the pump ID signal and a proximity link is created. The vehicle sensor passes the pump ID via hardwire or Bluetooth to vehicle fuel authorization processor (which can be part of a telematics device). The vehicle processor transmits the pump ID (and any fuel authorization credentials needed, such as a PIN or VIN) via WI-FI to a Station processor for fuel vendor authorization. Disclosed are methods and systems for interrupting a fuel controller to allow the generation and display of customer interfaces at a fuel dispenser. Using this technology, a fueling station owner, for example, can generate custom displays on a fuel dispenser in order to provide customized information and selections to a customer that are provided by interrupting a fuel controller that controls the fuel dispenser. In some embodiments, the ability to interrupt a fuel controller enables a computer system to generate custom interface display at a fuel dispenser for the configuration of multiple products transactions. In other embodiments, a fuel controller interrupt is utilized to produce custom interface screens at a fuel dispenser that include loyalty or account information tied to the current user of the fuel dispenser. In other embodiments, a fuel controller interrupt is utilized to produce printed receipts at a fuel dispenser even when the related fueling transaction was not initiated at the fuel dispenser (e.g., was initiated inside the fueling station building.) In some embodiments, such printed receipts also include an indication of a balance remaining at the end of the transaction and provide a user with the ability to redeem the remaining balance at a later time using the indication on the printed receipt.

A system and method for facilitating delivery of fuel to a customer site with a delivery truck. A hand-held device captures an identifier specific to the given customer. A zero flow of fuel being transferred from the delivery truck to a customer storage tank is sensed, and the fuel delivery is tagged for billing to the customer based upon when the zero flow is sensed in relation to when the identifier is captured. The hand-held device is used to log the identifier and an identification time at which the identifier is captured. A computer is provided on-board the delivery truck, and logs zero flow indications and the respective zero flow times. The system determines which ones of the zero flow times are after the identification time but before a next occurring identification time at which the hand-held device captures a next identifier.
