The latter machine comprises a self-propelled machine frame, two undercarriages supporting the frame for movement in the operating direction along the track, the undercarriages being sufficiently spaced apart in this direction to permit lifting and lateral movement of the track therebetween, a ballast tamping unit mounted on the frame between the undercarriages and comprising pairs of vibratory and reciprocatory tamping tools for tamping ballast under respective ones of the ties, a track lifting and lining unit mounted on the machine frame between the undercarriages and ahead of the ballast tamping unit in the operating direction, and a ballast receiving and storage container mounted on the machine frame ahead of the track lifting and lining unit, the container having adjustable outlet ports for distributing ballast in the cribs. A conveyor arrangement is mounted on the machine frame for receiving cleaned ballast from the ballast cleaning machine and for conveying the received cleaned ballast to the ballast receiving and storage container.

A method for the improvement and drainage of a railway track employs a train comprising a working frame-car to carry out the method whereby it is made possible to dismantle and reassemble the track together with its infrastructure. The old track spans are removed, ballast and earth are excavated from the track and replaced by a layer of sand and by new ballast which are distributed, levelled and compacted mechanically. All these operations are taking place in succession through and within the empty frame of said frame-car as the latter is stationary bridging the working site. Two travelling gantries are provided on the train and equipped both with a lifting device for a track span and a lifting and tipping device for buckets. The working car is also equipped with means for excavating, digging, levelling and compacting.

Gleisstopfmaschine mit einem mit dem Maschinenrahmen verbundenen und zwischen Fahrwerken angeordneten Stopfaggregat, mit Stopfwerkzeugen, wobei die als Regelfahrzeug und mit eigenem Fahrantrieb ausgebildete Maschine am Maschinenrahmen einen dem Stopfaggregat in Arbeitsrichtung vorgeordneten Schotteraufnehmer bzw. -speicher mit regelbaren Auslassoeffnungen - zum Einschottern der Schwellenzwischenfaecher - aufweist. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist die Schaffung einer Gleisstopfmaschine, mit welcher eine bessere Anpassung auf die Gleisbedingungen, insbesondere auf die Schotterverhaeltnisse, moeglich ist, um ueber laengere Strecken eine gleichmaessigere bzw. verbesserte Unterstopfung aller Schwellen zu erreichen. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, dass die Maschine zum universellen Einsatz als Nivellier-Gleisstopfmaschine mit in den Schotter eintauch-, beistell- und vibrierbaren Stopfwerkzeugen und mit Bezugssystem ausgebildet ist - insbesondere zur Eingliederung in einen Gleisumbauzug oder hinter einer Schotterbett-Reinigungsmaschine bzw. in Verbindung mit einem Schottertransport-Verladezug oder auch lediglich zum Einsatz als Einzel-Gleisstopfmaschine. Dabei ist dem Schotteraufnehmer und -speicher fuer den Zutransport von Schotter vom vorderen Endbereich der Maschine eine am Maschinenrahmen angeordnete Foerdereinrichtung zugeordnet. A mobile ballast cleaning apparatus comprises a first and a second work vehicle. A track lifting device and a vertically adjustable ballast excavating and conveying chain are mounted on the first work vehicle, and a ballast screening installation for separating waste from cleaned ballast and a waste conveyor means for removing the waste are mounted on the second work vehicle. The apparatus further comprises a cleaned ballast conveying and redistributing installation including a conveyor band mounted on the second vehicle for receiving the cleaned ballast from the ballast screening installation, a first cleaned ballast conveyor arranged to convey the cleaned ballast to an output end adjacent a first ballast redistributing outlet immediately rearwardly of the ballast excavating site, and a second cleaned ballast conveyor having an input end adjacent the output end of the first ballast conveyor and leading to a second ballast redistributing outlet arranged rearwardly of the rear undercarriage of the first work vehicle.
