The invention discloses an information processing apparatus and a method of setting a detection condition of an image. The information processing apparatus includes: a specifying unit configured to specify an inspection area in an image included on a sheet; a controller configured to: obtain read data relating to an image on the sheet, where the read data is output by a reading device; obtaining sheet type information related to a type of the sheet on which the image is formed; determining, on the basis of the sheet type information, a range that can be selected as a determination condition for inspection of the image of the inspection region; obtaining user instruction information related to the determination condition selected from the range; determining the determination condition to be used for the check based on the user instruction information; and inspecting the color of the image of the inspection area based on the determination condition and the read data.
