A fake fingernail 1 equipped with electronic paper as a display body is attached to the nail of a user using a fixing member 2 such as an electrically conductive adhesive. A display update device 3 generates an ion wind with the fake fingernail 1 attached to the nail and causes the generated ion wind to blow on the fake fingernail 1. Electric charging caused by the ion wind applies a potential to the electronic paper encapsulated in the fake fingernail 1, thereby updating the display of the electronic paper to exhibit a color corresponding to the potential.
