A process for the production of a multilayer hose (1), preferably a fuel hose containing an impermeable inner liner (2) is claimed. (2) is extruded onto a core (6) and at least one reinforcing layer (3, 4, 5) is extruded onto (2) that is supported by (6). (2) and/or (6) are co-extruded simultaneously and are made of a material that gives poor adhesion between them. (1) is also claimed. Preferably (2) is formed from tetrafluoroethylene hexafluoropylene vinylidene fluoride and (6) is a strong, resistant and flexible polymer. (3) is a adhesion promoting layer comprising 100 pts. epichlorohydrin/ethylene oxide copolymer, 35 pts. FEF (RTM: carbon black), 20 pts. MT (RTM: carbon black), 5 pts. poly(1,3-butyleneglycol adipate), 3 pts. nickel diorgaryldithiocarbamate, 1.5 pts. sorbitol monostearate, 6.0 pts. calcium hydroxide, 5 pts. 80% lead (II, IV) oxide, 1.2 pts. 80% 2-mercaptoimidazoline, 0.5 pts. of a mixture of 70% phenol formaldehyde resin and 30% 1,8-diazabicyclo-(5.4.0) undec-7-ene or is a nitrile rubber, acrylate rubber and ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer with other compatible rubbers and polymers. (3) is extruded onto (2) immediately before the reinforcing layers.
