Multi-branch down converting fractional rate change filter

A method of filtering an input sample stream having a downsampling rate is disclosed to generate an output sample stream having an upsampling rate that is less than the downsampling rate. The input sample stream is input to a rate change filter having multiple filter branches. The input sample stream is filtered at each of the multiple filter branches to output filtered sample substreams. Each of the multiple filter branches have filter coefficients corresponding to a different phase of the filter response. The filtered sample substreams are stored in a memory and the stored filtered sample substreams are combined to generate the output sample stream.

A system for transparently transporting m synchronous data streams as an aggregate data stream on a single channel of a Wave Division Multiplexed (WDM) optical link without pointer processing uses m unique encoding schemes to enable recovery of the respective m data streams from the aggregate data stream. The encoding schemes are preferably self-inverting. The respective m data streams are parsed into data units and encoded. The data units are then interleaved to form the aggregate data stream. Recovery is accomplished using a reverse process.

The present invention provides methods and apparatus to detect the presence of interferers in a wideband digital VSWR measurement signal. Interferers cause power differences over different intervals of time and frequency, and may be detected by comparing the measured signals in both time and frequency domains with the original signal. Frequency components in the measured signals may be discarded if the interference is deemed too large. The remaining frequency components can then be used to compute the VSWR. 1. A method implemented in a wireless transmitter of calculating a voltage standing signal ratio (VSWR) , said method comprising:converting time-domain measurement signals for a forward signal and a reflected signal to a frequency domain;computing reflection coefficients for a plurality of frequency bins based on said measurement signals;computing interference detection metrics for one or more of said frequency bins as a function of the reflection coefficients;discarding reflection coefficients for one or more frequency bins based on the interference detection metrics; andcomputing the VSWR based on the reflection coefficients for the remaining frequency bins.2. The method of wherein converting time-domain measurement signals for a forward signal and reflected signal to a frequency domain comprises computing discrete Fourier transforms of the measurement signals for the forward signal and the reflected signal.3.
