The method comprises the following steps: encrypting sensitive data using the random data and then storing the sensitive data in the unsafe area; and clearing the random data in the safe area when the condition that the POS machine is attacked is detected. According to the method, after being encrypted with a key, the random data of the safe area are stored in the unsafe area, and the random data of the safe area are cleared when the POS machine is attacked; and as the randomness of the data in the safe area, the stolen situation of the key of the POS machine is avoided, the requirement on the space size of the safe area is lowered, and the flexibility of the system is improved.
