A light emitting display has pixels connected to driving lines over a substrate 100, and a light emitting device layer EDL. A dam portion 104 along a peripheral edge of the substrate includes at least one dam with a metal line. An encapsulation layer 106 covers the light emitting device layer EDL and is surrounded by the dam portion 104. Switching circuit portions 170 overlap the at least one dam and have a gate electrode electrically coupled to the dam metal line. Pads at the substrate periphery are electrically coupled to the dam metal line. The switching circuit portions 170 and pads are connected to the pixel driving lines. Each dam may comprise a first, second and third stacked pattern [104a-c, fig. 11]. A self-emitting device ED (organic or quantum dot) may be isolated, disconnected or separated by an undercut (eaves) between the first 104a and second 104b dam pattern. The metal dam lines may supply switching control signals, may be used in a test mode or as an anti-electrostatic line.
