Il en resulte un comportement stable pendant la marche.

A cleaning apparatus for a combine harvester is disclosed wherein the grain pan and chaffer sieve are mounted in a subframe pivotally supported by a shaker shoe for a laterally tilting movement about a fore-and-aft extending axis. The shaker shoe is connected to an eccentric drive to effect a generally fore-and-aft shaking action to convey threshed grain thereon in a rearward direction. The pivotal movement of the subframe relative to the shaker shoe is accomplished through the use of a hydraulic cylinder interconnecting the shaker shoe and the subframe to permit a lateral leveling of the grain pan and chaffer sieve when the combine is operated under sidehill conditions. An inclinometer is utilized to control the flow of hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic cylinder to permit the subframe to be leveled in response to a sensing of a non-horizontal transverse inclination by the inclinometer.

An ignition system control for garden tractors is disclosed which includes a single control switch actuator interconnected with independently movable mower drive and transmission drive control linkages. The tractor engine will start only if both drive control linkages are in their disengaged positions which closes the control actuator switch. The control switch includes an elongated cantilevered contact which is engageable by a control wire member. The control wire member is responsive to movement by either the mower drive linkage or the transmission drive linkage. It is held in a transverse bridge-like fashion between the mower drive linkage and transmission drive linkage and above the cantilevered switch contact. The drive control linkages may move independently of one another, but only when both drives are disengaged does the control wire member compress the contact sufficiently to close the switch and permit engine starting.

The first louvers are configured to rotate about lateral axes thereof, the lateral axes perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the combine harvester. The second louvers are configured to change a lateral direction of air flow from the blower to the chaffer. Another combine harvester has a plurality of second louvers below first louvers of a chaffer. Each of the second louvers are configured to rotate about an axis perpendicular to the lateral axes of the first louvers of the chaffer. A method of operating a combine includes rotating at least one second louver to change a direction of the air flow in the cleaning shoe before the air flow reaches the chaffer.

[Also in Groups XXIX, XXXI and XXXII] A self-propelled combine harvester comprises a main frame 62 which carries the threshing and separating mechanisms 22 and is mounted on traction wheels 56, 57 which are oppositely adjustable vertically for levelling the frame transversely, a forward part 21 of the harvesting mechanism being angularly adjustable about a horizontal longitudinal axis, the machine also including a wheeled sub-frame 96 pivoted to the rear of the main frame so as to be adjustable vertically about its pivot, thereby levelling the harvester in a fore-and-aft direction. The harvesting mechanism comprises a platform 25 flanked by lateral dividers 27 and surmounted by a reel 29. The crop cut by the cutter-bar (not shown) is carried by a double auger to a centrally-disposed shoot 23 pivoted to the threshing mechanism at 24 and containing a conveyer. The forward part 21 is pivoted to the shoot-housing 23 through a pivot-ring 55 so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis. Cables 204 pass around the ring 55 in opposite directions and are anchored to the movable part 21, the free ends of the cables being attached to pivoted arms 58, 59, which carry the traction wheels 56, 57 so that the platform is tilted laterally as the wheels rise and fall. The harvesting mechanism and shoot 23 may be lifted together about the pivot 24 by the operation of hydraulic jacks 160a controllable by the driver, for transport, but the mechanism rises and falls automatically due to the movement of the sub-frame 96 which is connected to the harvesting mechanism through links 151, pivoted levers 153 and the jacks 160a, the latter normally acting as rigid links. HARVESTING MACHINE FEED MECHANISM Abstract of the Disclosure A self-propelled combine has a mobile body with a forward inlet, a forward transversely elongated harvesting header, and a feeder housing extending between the header and the inlet for feeding crop material from the header to a crop treating mech-anism in the combine body. The feeder housing has an upwardly and rearwardly inclined floor with a chain and slat type conveyor mounted in the housing and having a lower run moving upwardly and rearwardly above the floor. A flat pan-like crop deflecting member is mounted on top of the floor underneath the conveyor and includes a plurality of generally fore and aft vanes that extend a substantial portion of the length of the floor. The crop de-flecting member is swingably mounted on a pivot extending through the floor, and a hydraulic cylinder is connected to the pivot on the underside of the floor to swing the deflector member between alternate positions wherein the vanes direct crop material moving along the floor toward one side of the body inlet or the other, whereby, when the combine is operating on a hillside, the crop material can be directed to the uphill side of the crop treating mechanism to reduce the buildup of material on the downhill side while the crop is being treated.

A method and apparatus for controlling an agricultural harvester having a cut crop receiving header coupled to a hydraulic cylinder. The header applies a force against the ground that is adjusted by applying pressure to the cylinder. Proportional raise and lower valves control the pressure in the cylinder. A pressure signal representing cylinder pressure is received. The difference between the measured pressure and the setpoint is used to compute input signals, which are transmitted to the valves. Cylinder pressure is maintained substantially at a setpoint, the setpoint being adjustable in response to varying terrain. The setpoint is set to a first value in falling terrain and a second value in rising terrain. At the top of a hill, the setpoint is reduced below the first value until ground contact is regained, and the pressure is recharged above the second value. Alternatively, header height may be measured and the valves controlled to maintain header position substantially constant relative to the ground or the harvester frame. Header lateral tilt is controlled while controlling either cylinder pressure or header height. A resume function returns the header from a raised position to a cutting position at the beginning of a new row.
