The venting structure directs water vapor and/or steam to a desired face of the cleaning article, away from the user. A heat barrier layer may insulate a user's hand from the generated heat, and/or a handle may be attachable to the pad. 1. A selectively heatable cleaning article comprising:(a) a cleaning substrate material comprising one or more layers;(b) a heat engine comprising a reactive metal oxide that generates heat upon contact with water;(c) a handle attachable to the cleaning substrate; and(d) a venting structure surrounding or adjacent to the heat engine wherein the venting structure directs water vapor and/or steam through one or more vent holes on one face of the cleaning article, opposite a face on which the handle is attachable.2. The invention provides a method and formulation for cleaning a soiled substrate, the method comprising the treatment of the moistened substrate with a formulation comprising a multiplicity of polymeric particles, wherein the formulation is free of organic solvents. Preferably, the substrate is wetted so as to achieve a substrate to water ratio of between 1:0.1 to 1:5 w/w. Optionally, the formulation additionally comprises at least one cleaning material and, in this embodiment, it is preferred that the polymeric particles are coated with the at least one cleaning material. In one embodiment, a soap recycling and conversion process that processes and converts bar soap remnants or pieces into liquid soap, in anti-bacterial, organic or non-organic forms. Soap remnants are treated with an anti-bacterial cleansing solution, including ethyl alcohol; then either grated or broken into smaller pieces. The remnants or grated remains are then dissolved in warm water, either tap or purified, and combined with the conversion solution, which consists of water, glycerin, citric acid and sodium laureth sulfate (not used in organic solution). The liquefied mass is either heated in a microwave for 30-120 seconds, depending on microwave wattage; or heated in a crock pot until consistent; or whisked at room temperature until the proper consistency of liquid soap. The solution is then packaged for reuse. 1. A method for recycling bar soap , comprising:a. Cleaning bar soap remnant with an anti-bacterial cleansing solution.b. Grating with a grated instrument or breaking the soap remnants by hand.c. Dissolving the remnants in warm water, (105-115 deg F. or 40-45 deg C.).d. A method of making a laundry detergent sheet , said method comprising the steps of:preparing a first shelf-stable solution;preparing a second non-shelf-stable solution comprising a portion of said first shelf-stable solution;applying said second non-shelf-stable solution onto a surface; anddrying said second non-shelf-stable solution on said surface to form said laundry detergent sheet.2. The method of making a laundry detergent sheet as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first shelf-stable solution comprises:a) about 5 to about 20 wt-% of polyvinyl alcohol;b) about 15 to about 30 wt-% of α-olefin sulfonate;c) about 1 to about 15 wt-% of glycerin;d) about 0.01 to about 5 wt-% of preservative; ande) about 20 to about 80 wt-% of water.3. The method of making a laundry detergent sheet as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said first shelf-stable solution comprises:a) about 10.1 wt-% of polyvinyl alcohol;b) about 21.8 wt-% of α-olefin sulfonate;c) about 10.66 wt-% of glycerin;d) about 0.14 wt-% of preservative; ande) about 57.3 wt-% of water.4. The method of making a laundry detergent sheet as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said preservative comprises methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and chloromethylisothiazolinone (CIT).5.
