A reinforcement element for being positioned within a cast, wherein the reinforcement element comprises a plane sheet- or plate-shaped body of at least one row of at least two consecutively coupled reinforcement portions with waist portions there between. At least one of the reinforcement portions has an oblong through hole, and at least one end reinforcement portion at the end of the row of reinforcement portions has a peripheral width corresponding to the elongation of the oblong through hole such that the end reinforcement portion is lockable with the oblong through hole.
