The invention concerns a device for connecting the Umschnürungsmittelenden at Umschnürungsmaschinen, with which the Umschnürungsmittelenden between an upper and lower printing cheek is pressed together and with which of a side of the Umschnürungsstelle the grip arms shiftable to the other page is intended, which a Schneidmesser for splitting the Umschnüs rungsmittels is assigned. There is devices of this kind well-known, with which the grip arm must umfahren, in order to arrive of a side of the UmschnürungssteUe at the other side, the printing cheek. One keeps the disadvantage of large, complex and heavy designs connected to Hiedurch with relatively high manufacturing costs. Furthermore a long way of the grip arm is present when driving the printing cheek around, whereby the device and thus the Umschnürungsmaschine with smaller achievement work. Task of the invention is it, in particular, i.e. additionally to itself the task productions resulting in from description and requirements, one device of simple and compact structure would genericin accordance with-eat in such a manner to indicate that the hit under achievement of a higher Umsehnürungsleistung needs to put back only a small way. Solved this task is according to invention thereby that the lower printing cheek sits to a side of the grip arm and itself with this shifted. According to such arrangement is one would indicated genericin accordance with-eat device, which is characterised essentially on the one hand by a simplified structure and on the other hand by a increased work. Furthermore the grip arm steering construction units can be kept simpler and smaller, which leads to the above-mentioned compact design of the device. In practice this looks in such a way that with usual overlap length of the Umschnürungsmittelenden the device according to invention is about half as large as the well-known device of these art. this substantial reduction brings the advantage of a smaller weight and permits it, the manufacturing costs to lower. Then the entire Umschnürungsmaschine can receive a more compact structure below Umschnürungsti. Also the according to invention works according to device the shorter grip arm way in relation to the well-known solutions more störungsunanfäiliger. A favourable characteristic consists in accordance with the invention of that the lower printing cheek is subjected to this lengthwise-relocatable to the Greffer stored, in pressure position above a tappet arranged and. Despite common misalignment of grip arm and printing cheek the latter is relative to the Greffer shiftable. In the pressure position then the printing cheek lies above the tappet, which takes over the actual controlling of the printing cheek. Connecting the Umschnürungsmittelenden is possible e.g. with welding or with a clip. It proves according to invention as favourable that some upper, which trains a Greffer retaining plate course-turned edge of the lower printing cheek the knife edge. Thus the lower printing heel fulfills a dual function. On the one hand it serves for the Zus.m, nenpressen the Umschnürungsmittelenden, and on the other hand it splits the Umschnürungsmittel after finished Umschnürung. With each common misalignment of grip arm and printing cheek this withdraws from the path and permits a troublefree misalignment of the printing cheek and the grip arm. It goes only with the closing procedure into action. Finally it still according to invention is of advantage that a spring-tensioned free course between Stöße1 and Schwinghehel is present. This design is in particular selected, if connecting in such a way the Umschnürungsmittelenden is done via welding. The heating lamella driven between the Umschnürungsmittelenden can back-shift then to finished heating process without damage of the appropriate Umschnürungsmittelabschnitte. An apparatus for connecting the ends of the tying means on tying machines, by which the tying means ends are pressed together between an upper and a lower pressing jaw and by which a gripper is provided which is displaceable from one side of the tying position to the other side, and a cutterknife for separating the tying means is coordinated to the gripper.
