X=ray diagnostic device for layer image forming - is computer tomograph with movable reference body mounting
A radiation diagnostic device produces layer images of an object through which is passed a beam whose dimension perpendicular to the plane of the layer is the same as the thickness of the layer. It enables images of the layer under investigation to be prepared without using a reference body. The object is inserted into an opening (4) in the housing. It is mounted on two supports (5, 6) between whose ends lies a gap in the housing opening. The x-rays pass through the gap. Reference bodies (7) of materials with known attenuation coefficients may be positioned in this gap. The reference body may be removed from the path of the beam by moving its mounting (23). The arrangement consists of a computer tomograph measuring attenuation values for penetrated bodies.
