The present invention provides an apparatus of manufacturing a gear wheel and a method of manufacturing the same. The apparatus of manufacturing a gear wheel comprises: a mold in which an injection groove is formed; a material supply means supplying a hollow tube-shaped insert unit and a gear unit to the injection groove of the mold; a connection unit molding member installed on an upper portion of the mold and having a ring-shaped resin discharge hole supplying resin to form a connection unit between an outer lateral surface of the insert unit and the gear unit, and a resin supply passage moving resin to the resin discharge hole; a moving member selectively moving the mold and the connection unit to allow the mold to be in close contact with the connection unit molding member; the resin supply unit supplying resin to the connection unit molding member; and a control unit controlling the operation of the material supply means, the moving member, and the resin supply unit, and a method of manufacturing the same. Thus, it is possible to reduce a portion with unnecessarily injected resin on a position located between the insert portion and the gear portion and the outer lateral surface of the insert unit by using the ring-shaped resin supply structure when the connection unit of the gear wheel is injection molded such that the apparatus can eliminate an operation related to removing unnecessarily injected portion, thereby improving productivity.
