According to an embodiment of the present invention, the parking assistance device for assisting parking of a vehicle comprises an electronic control unit which generates a parking command by estimating the position of the corresponding vehicle moving along a parking path for parking in a parking area searched through a sensing unit installed in the vehicle. The electronic control unit stores an air pressure range of a tire for each section and a reference wheel pulse value per one wheel of the tire for each section, determines a section to which the air pressure of the tire received from the TPMS belongs, and estimates the position of the vehicle moving along the parking path by reflecting the calculated moving distance of the vehicle by using a reference wheel pulse value per wheel of the tire set in the determined section, a moving distance actually measured and set per wheel of the tire, and an arbitrary wheel pulse value received from the outside.
