[1]

The present invention relates to a clamp for clamping the adjustable any object including tubes, wire bundles or the like for example for their attachment to walls.

[2]

RN known clamping collars having a flexible strap or band provided with teeth for its hooking in a head provided with a port or groove comprising one or more corresponding teeth. Such collars have disadvantages.1 risk of dropping off easily; indeed, the feeler and the plastic strap being more or less flexible, these catching teeth of the strap nay slide over the teeth of the head.

[3]

The invention aims paHier these disadvantages by performing an adjustable collar for fastening objects such as tubes or the like of different diameters, with a reinforcement of the lock the strap in the head of the collar so that even if an important stress exerted on the collar on a tube, the hooking cannot loosen mimics that it yields.

[4]

The invention also aims at providing a non-disengageable collar it is to say to irreversible locking that cannot be removed after installation except by destruction of the collar.

[5]

The object of the invention is a collar adjustable fastener comprising a strap and a closure head provided with an opening for the passage of the strap, characterized in that the strap and the head comprise each of the hooking means combined with pressure means for stiffening the clamping pressure of said locking means therebetween.

[6]

The collar of " binding according to the invention may further comprise preferably at least one of the following features!

[7]

- the pressure means are constituted by projections formed in the strap cooperating with at least a projection made in the closing head substantially at said hooking means,

[8]

- said pressure means increased pressure exerçerit hooking in the plane attachment means or plane of the strap,

[9]

- the strap and the head are lateral hooking means comprising at least one tooth carried by the strap cooperating with at least one complementary tooth carried by the head, the pressure means being disposed at the central portion of the strap,

[10]

- the pressure means are formed on one hand by grooves or blind holes disposed in an opening in the strap, and by at least one boss, pin or the like of the head.

[11]

- the base has a slot in the outer wall of the head to allow passage of a pull handle carried by the tip of the strap,

[12]

the oote - input of the slot is slightly higher than its rating Sout so as to facilitate insertion of the handle in the slot of the base,

[13]

- the base comprises a rib on the edges of the slit and a corresponding rib in the mouthpiece of the strap to prevent disengagement of the strap even when efforts exerted on the closure.

[14]

- the closing head has openings forming spring bridges preapplied thereon the object to be secured.

[15]

The features of the invention shall become apparent from the description hereinafter of an embodiment given only by way of example, with reference to the attached drawing wherein:

[16]

Figure 1 represents a perspective view one embodiment of a clamp according to the invention.

[17]

Figure 2 is a partial view of the collar of Figure 1.

[18]

Figure 3 shows the mode of operation of the pressure means and hooking.

[19]

The collar shown in Figure 1 1 has a strap and a closure head 2 with an opening 3 in which the strap is locked by means' hooking which hereinafter. The head or the base 2 has a central attachment hole 4 in which can pass a screw for attachment to a wall for example. On each side of the center hole and parallel to the axis of the strap, the base 2 has openings 5. b. providing bridges 7, 8 forming a support of the pipe to be fixed by the strap. These bridges 7.8 provided in the base ensure its flexibility, which allows it to easily conform to the shape of the pipe to be fixed.

[20]

Inside the opening 3 is arranged, on the rear wall, a stud 3 formed integrally with the base 2. This stud 9 is reinforced by a rib 20 and is adapted to slide within an opening 11 of the end or tip 12 of the strap 1. This opening 11 is provided with lateral grooves 13. The opening 3 provided in the base 2 further comprises lateral interior walls of one or more teeth 14 which are intended to cooperate with teeth formed in the side edges 15 DS to the tip 12 of the strap 1 at toothings center 13 of the opening 11.

[21]

The tooth 14 of the base 2 is disposed in the same plane as the pad pressure 9, similarly the teeth 15 of the strap are in the same plane as the grooves 13 so that the pressure exerted by the pad 9 on the grooves 13 of the strap has a substantial effect on the teeth 15 anchored in the teeth 14 of the head.

[22]

SAL grooves 13 have a diameter slightly greater than that of the pad 9 to facilitate the insertion of the strap 1 in the opening 3 of the base 2.

[23]

To ensure effective attachment of the strap 1 in the closing head, the tip 12 of the strap, at catching means, is reinforced so as to be rigid; similarly, the walls of the opening 3 in which the tip of the strap is hooked, are rigid.

[24]

The tip 12 of the strap 1 may include a grasping handle 16;

[25]

in this case the head will have a slot for the passage of the handle; for this purpose, the walls 17 of the opening 3 a thickness and have sufficient rigidity from deforming so that the clamp remains shakeproof and indébrayable despite the forces exerted on the collar. The slot in the wall of the head for the passage of the handle may be slightly wider on the insertion side of the strip as the output side so as to facilitate insertion of the handle into the slot.

[26]

The opening 11 is extended by a groove 19.

[27]

The stud 9 is reinforced by a rib 20 whose role is to prevent the possible shearing thereof at the face 3.

[28]

On the other hand, the stud 9 and its ribs, is of a greater height than the passage and to the thickness of the strap 1, this to increase efficiency.

[29]

The engagement of the strap is promoted by recesses 21 in the walls 17. Indeed, thanks to them the end of the lead can be pressed against the face 3 following a movement perpendicular thereto for then slide toward the teeth 14 and the boss 9. This will avoid the search coincidence of the end of the lead with respect to the slide.

[30]

As shown in Figure 2, the handle 10 has two ribs which the solid connection between the strap; the opening 11 is reinforced by two ribs 22 of inner concentric with its holes 13.

[31]

The ' side ribs opposite that in contact with the object to be clamped is provided with small bosses 23 that are intended to serve as a support for a screw driver as is the handle 10, either to provide a roughness sufficient to exert the necessary pressure with the finger to the interlocking teeth.

[32]

The base can be enhanced by providing a rib on the edges of the slit, which rib will cooperate with a corresponding rib positioned within the tip of the strap so that the strap can withstand being hung without deformation of the base.

[33]

The collar according to the invention is obtained by molding a plastics material;

[34]

the strap is flexible but the head and the emoout are preferably rigid.

[35]

The operation mode to the clamp according to the invention is as follows:

[36]

The strap 1 is placed around the object to be fastened and the end 12 of the strap is inserted into the aperture of the base 3.

[37]

The opening 11 of the tip 12 9 slides on the pad of the base 15 and the teeth which have a certain elasticity and an inclined position slide on the teeth 14 of the base up to the clamping position selected. In this position the teeth 15 engage into respective teeth 14 preventing loosening.

[38]

In addition, this impingement is reinforced by the presence of the bosses 16 which, by relying on the pad 9, tend to apply the toothing 15 on the teeth 14.

[39]

Figure 3 shows the final position of engagement; the teeth 15 of the strap are hooked in the teeth 14 of the head; a toothing is pressed by the pad 9 in the groove 13 so as to apply the edges of the belt against the side walls of the opening 3 and by subsequently applying the teeth 15 against the teeth 14, thereby improving the attachment of the strap in its seat. When a force F, e.g. the weight of a tube, acts in the unlocking direction of the closure, as shown in Figure 3, this force f may decompose into a force exerted by the groove 13 f1 against the stud 9 and a force exerted by the pad f2 9 against the strap. This force f2 applies the teeth 15 of the strap against the teeth 14 of the base thereby increasing the pressure catching teeth on each other and constitutes an obstacle to the raising of the strap. There is therefore a self-clamping engagement teeth for preventing loosening side of the belt. The subject ribs 22, the tensile force F., acting for example due to weight of the tube, tends to restore them to a linear shape. This reaction is hindered by the presence of the spigot 9 and causes forces f2.

[40]

The openings 5 and 6 provided on the lateral sides of the base, two on each side, attempt to provide a certain elasticity when tightening the article to be held, in consideration of the fact that the clamping is effected by notches; the bridges 7 and 8 assume a boom in accordance with the pressure exerted upon closing of the collar. The head of the clip can therefore épcuser tubes of different diameters; the contact between the tube and the head is not taking place in a single point but as a surface, thereby improving the attachment of the tube substantially eliminating slippage. On the other hand the elasticity of bridges 7 and 8 improves the clamping.

[41]

A clearance 24 can optionally cutting off the end of the thong which would in the case of clamping of a tube with a diameter less than that provided. This increases thus holding capacity of the system.

[42]

According to the invention one obtains DNs indébrayable closing, it is to say to irreversible locking, which can be opened only by destroying the hooking means or of the strap itself.

[43]

The invention is not limited to the embodiment shown which has been given as exemplary; it is possible without departing from the scope of the invention as modifications of detail, change some arrangements or replace certain means by equivalent means. In particular, the role of different attachment components and pressure may be reversed. A recess may be provided in the central stud for increasing the elasticity.

[44]

Alternatively, the opening 11 of the strap could include, instead of grooves 13, parallel edges or flared toward the end so as to exert a clamping pressure also on the catching teeth when sliding the groove 11 on the pad 9.
