[1]

The present invention relates to an electric generator, especially i a dry cell, of which one of the poles is constituted by a center electrode - emerging from a bucket that is closed all around *

[2]

In electric generators and specifically in the dry cells, it is usual fuasi masking the whole year least poles by a warranty typically need to be torn or cut at the time of use, member whose presence intact ensures the buyer that the device is nine *

[3]

Heretofore, SSO members guarantee have been made in the form of a paper strip covering the poles or the plastic cap that conforms to the shape of the pole thus isolated.

[4]

The paper strips have the disadvantage of being fragile and therefore it can be torn off accidentally. As to the known plastic caps, their removal requires the need for a tool.

[5]

The present invention aims rtoldier these drawbacks

[6]

and to this end, the generator which in fact the object is characterized in that it comprises a member warranty formed from a sheet of plastic material of which the section is close to that of the generator and which comprises on the one hand, a housing for the free end of the center electrode and, on the other hand, anchoring means connecting said generator, the peripheral portion of the plastic part preventing access to said anchoring means.

[7]

The generator is thus provided with a warranty both strong and easily detachable by hand. Its size allows to precisely the to be readily grasped between the thumb and forefinger, and strip separating the generator under the operational following the case rotary motion or plucking fracturing the anchoring means.

[8]

Further, the section of the warranty is relatively large, it is possible to land on its upper face indications about the nature of the generator and identifying the forwarding, it is stored in a vertical or horizontal.

[9]

Certain embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the attached drawing wherein:

[10]

figure 1 - is a longitudinal sectional view of a dry cell showing a first embodiment of the invention,

[11]

figure 2 - is a partial cut of a second embodiment,

[12]

figure 3 - is a view of the bottom of the member warranty provided in the embodiment of Figure 2,

[13]

[14]

- figures 5 * 12 are partial cut-outs of the other five forties execution *

[15]

Viewed referee 4 Figure 1, see a dry cell comprising a metallic housing 1 constituting the anode and a depolarizing fishing trap eéparé 2 constituting the cathode by a diaphragm 3. An electrode © ENTRAL plunges into the mass 4 iépolarisante 2 covered, surface, of a cardboard ring 5. The upper end of 1' electrode 4 is covered with a metal cup part which constitutes the positive ptle extrenity of the stack and the bottom of said éleotrode rests on an insulating washer T-lining the bottom of the loader bucket 1 *, whose side surface is covered with a plastic sheath 8, is closed at the top by a cover also plastic 9 held in plaoe by clamping between on the one hand, the hooked end of the bucket and, of antrum hand, the edge of the metal cup 6 and the upper edge of a cardboard tnbe - 10 surrounding said bucket. The lower edge of this amount $mth cardboard tube secures the assembly a second metal cup 11 held against the bottom cup Qn 1 and constituting the P $the negative cell *

[16]

Thein Bnf, a metal jacket 13 surrounds the cardboard pipe 10. According to the invention the pesitif folding of the stack is masked by a guaranteed 12 wherein there is provided a housing 14 for 1 'free end of 1' éleotrode central, which conmunique housing with the outside via a channel 14a.

[17]

The member 12 is provided with two guaranteed ergotasoseeptiblea 15 be received in orifioee web formed in the metal cup 6.

[18]

The member 12 is guaranteed rénni 4 metal cup 6 by matching the pins and 15 donations ISAs erifiosséorasement hot strip and the free end of these lugs 15 eontre metal cup is greatly accelerated.

[19]

In order to use the stack, it is necessary to remove the member warranty. 4. oette end, is given a rotational movement & member 12 so guaranteed 4 break the ergote year where they pass through the metallic ooupelle. The member 12 is currently guaranteed longer retained on the stack and can had be $tee. The channel 14a serves 4 verify cell condition during storage had year time of purchase.

[20]

The embodiment depicted in Figures 2, 3 and 4 is a variant of that shown in Figure 1. Without EO case, the free end of the electrode 4 and 1 oentrale "cover 9 are not reoouverts by a metal cup coomune, but by a capsule 6a and 6b conpelle a proper" furthermore, the shape of the cover is somewhat modified. On the plane of the design, the mounting and the removal of guaranteed, 11 is not difference with the embodiment of Figure 1.

[21]

The embodiment shown in fig. 5 differs from the preceding one by the fact that the apertures in the cup 6b for leading through the 15 member guaranteed 12 merge into one which allows free passage of the electrode.

[22]

In this case, there are two or more pins 15 on the member 12 and warranty but something * notches 17 at the periphery; of the central opening of said cup 6b. The warranty 12 is joined to the cup by placing the lugs 15 in the corresponding notches 17 and hot against them by crushing the metal cup 6 b..

[23]

As in the previous case, the warranty is removed at the time of use, followed by a rotational movement that causes breakage of the lugs. 15 where they pass through the cup 6b.

[24]

Instead of separate pins 17, may also be provided in the embodiment of Figure 5" an annular protrusion received in the central hole of the cup 6b that is crushed and hot against said cup 6b thereby making the latter integral with the member 12 guarantee.

[25]

In EO case, remove the warranty, is broken by tearing the annular protuberance at its passage through the cup 6b.

[26]

The embodiment of Figure 6 differs from the preceding in that the orifices 16 are provided in the capsule 6a and guarantee that the member is secured to said cap 12 6a by overmolding, operation at in which the material of the member guarantee comes to inlay in the orifioee l6. The capsule 6a, capped member guaranteed 12, is mounted on 1' central electrode 4 and fixed with clamp the latter.

[27]

By imparting a rotational motion to the warranty, it causes the rupture of the plastic permeated in the orifices 16, whereby it is possible Ster for said member.

[28]

In the case of the embodiment of Figure 7 * l ' warranty member 12 is also 3 urmoulé 6a on the capsule, but it does not have a orifioe 16. By Gontre, the overmold extends beyond the lower edge of said cap member and the guaranteed 6a has a weakening circular 18. Before use, the breakage by rotational movement or plucking member guaranteed the plastic at 1' weakening 18.

[29]

The embodiment shown in Figure 8 is similar to that of Figure 6. The difference is only green ports 16 are not provided in the cylindrical portion of the capsule 6a but on a base that has the latter.

[30]

JLvant use, the warranty is removed by rotational movement which has the effect of breaking the plastic at the DUT in the base holes of the capsule.

[31]

In the case of the embodiment of Figure 9, the member 12 and the cover 9 guaranteed are plastic, preferably a plastic first hard and brittle, such as polystyrene, and the second made of flexible plastics, such as polyethylene.

[32]

The top of the cover 9 has a central recess 19 and the member 12 guarantee an annular projection 15 whose shape corresponds to that of the central recess 19 which latch therein.

[33]

Before use, it is necessary to pull on the member 12 in order to guarantee that, by tearing, said erganeeoit 8té snapped that the part is broken, which also has the effect of releasing the ρ δ ℮ 1 positive cell *

[34]

The discoid * execution of Figure 10 applies exclusively to stacks whose top portion forming a cover 9 is made of plastic.

[35]

The cover 9 in ES * provided with one or more pins 15 projecting upwardly and corresponding in shape to the housings 16 provided in the warranty * 12

[36]

Assembly of the member 12 and the cover 9 guarantee is effected by introduction of ergote 15 in the housings 16 and bonding or welding of said ergote in the housings.

[37]

Before ntilisation, the warranty 12 EETs removed and imparts a rotational movement which results in breaking the lugs.

[38]

In the case of the embodiment of Figure 11, the warranty is in two parts 12a 12b CD. The portion 12a is overmolded onto the capsule 6a and has a thread 20 to its outer face. The surœoulage is designed so that the plastic material extends beyond the lower level of the capsule 6a. The portion 12b includes a housing 14 on the inner wall of which there is also a thread 20b matches the previous. The two parts 12a and 12b of the warranty, which each have a channel 14a and 14 *&aligned with each other, are joined together by screwing.

[39]

To remove the warranty, is simply rotated the workpiece 12b so as to force the screwing on the part 12a. This results in a force on the plastic that is disposed between the capsule and the cover 9 6a and that breaks.

[40]

A protective cap affixed to a dry cell to be removed before use includes a disc-like cap covering the exposed electrode at one end of the cell. Axial protrusions on one face of the disc extend through holes in the end face surrounding the electrode, the protrusions being deformed while in a plastic state so as to be not removable without breakage. The cap is removed by fracturing the protrusions with a rotary motion. In another embodiment a single annular flange fits in an annular groove around the electrode. Yet another embodiment includes axial and radial projections to adopt to the specific form of battery case design. A further embodiment includes a two-part cap with one externally threaded and molded onto the electrode, and the other internally threaded and screwed onto the first. Removal is effected by tightening the second which breaks the first loose.

Finally, the embodiment of Figure 12 differs from Figure 11 that the portion 12a is not overmolded onto the capsule 6a, but comprises a base 21 housed beneath the cup 6b, thereby making the part 12a integral with the stack. As in the case of Figure 11, the portion 12b of the warranty is screwed onto the part 12a.

To remove the warranty, it suffices here also to turn the workpiece * 12b so as to force the screwing on the part 12a " owing to the force exerted on the base, the latter breaks at the thread of the screw 20, net which is located flush with the base, the capsule 6a thus becomes accessible and the stack is usable.

It is well understood that the embodiments just described it has been so exemplary and that the invention is applicable to generators regardless of the shape of their upper portion. In particular, the guarantee according to the invention applies equally well generators whose upper part would be constituted by an apertured metal at its center for passing the center electrode and that would be the base of the cup upside down metal cylindrical walls would form the outer portion of the generator.
