The present invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed are a method and device for electronic device security protection. The solution is such that: a first electronic device establishes a signal connection with a second electronic device via a preset approach, and, the first electronic device triggers an alarm signal after detecting that the strength of the signal connection falls below a preset signal threshold for a duration that reaches a preset duration threshold,. In the method, the first electronic device detects the strength of the signal connection with the second electronic device to determine whether or not the alarm signal is to be triggered, thereby effectively preventing not only the loss of the electronic device but also property loss and information leakage. By means of a two-way electronic device security device, improved management of electronic devices of a user is allowed, and security coefficient is increased.
