The spray pattern maximizes the surface area of the cooling water within the superheated steam. The combination of the spiraling motion, the radially outwardly directed flow, and the low pressure area results in a closed vortex having a vortex core. The closed vortex is characterized as a spiraling, swirling flow of eddies and vortices downstream of the vortex generator. As a result, any fluid leakage past the primary packing is normally sent to the detection system, as opposed to being applied to and thus pressurizing the secondary packing. In the event of that a prescribed level of fluid leakage beyond the primary packing is detected, the leak port will be closed. The closure of the leak port facilitates the pressurization of the secondary packing.

Imaging devices, such as laser printers, often use a toner cartridge to print images on a recording medium. For both environmental and economical reasons, it is often desirable to reuse an exhausted toner cartridge. Some imaging devices use toner cartridges comprised of two sections that are fixed together with some limited movement. This limited movement is necessary to compensate for any misalignment in the cartridge and to reduce printer defects. Disclosed is a method and device for remanufacturing this type of toner cartridge. 1. A method of affixing two plastic members together comprising:providing a gasket having a base layer with a first surface and a second surface, wherein the gasket has a pressure sensitive adhesive layer located on the first surface and a pressure sensitive adhesive located on the second surface;fixing the gasket between a first plastic member and a second plastic member; andapplying a pressure so that the pressure sensitive adhesive layer located on the first surface of the gasket is activated and the pressure sensitive adhesive layer located on the second surface of the gasket is activated.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein pressure is applied by using an “S” shaped tool.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the gasket initially has two liner layers and the two liner layers are removed before the two plastic members are fixed together.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein activation of the pressure sensitive layer located on the first surface of the gasket and activation of the pressure sensitive layer located on the second surface of the gasket causes the two plastic members to be fixed together while allowing limited movement there between.5. Electronic systems, such as printing systems, often use components that have integral memory. The integral memory can be used to store information about the component. In some printing systems this memory includes a portion that stores a value indicative of an amount of a consumable that has been used. Some printing systems do this by using a counter to count the amount of the consumable used and then sending a count command to the memory. The increment count command is processed to increment the value stored within the memory. Disclosed is a method and system for allowing the memory to be updated by a count command without having to increment the value stored. This method allows print cartridges to be used in printing systems that utilize counters without having to increment the counter each time an increment command is received. 1. A method of modifying a printer cartridge is disclosed. The modifications increase the versatility of an existing cartridge by enabling the cartridge to be transformed into a universal cartridge. The OEM print cartridges are restricted to use in a few or only one type of printer due to specialized gear side end plates and contact side end plates. End plates contain features or portions, such as bosses, which restrict the number of models of printer that a cartridge may be fit into. The features or portions may be removed by any combination of cutting, modifying, or replacing the gear side end or the contact side end plates. Removing the portions, removes the restrictions imposed by the end plates and allows the print cartridge to been fit into a greater number of printers. The universal cartridge may be used in the printer for which it is originally designed as well as another printer or printer family, thus increasing the versatility of the cartridge.

An anti-surge system capable of anticipating a surge event in a compressor for readying the actuator to quickly actuate the anti-surge valve from the closed position to the open position.
