An absorbent pad that prolongs the life of a cut flower in a container used for transport or storage of the cut flower , said absorbent pad comprising:a top layer;a bottom layer;an absorbent body positioned between said top layer and said bottom layer, said absorbent body comprising a layer of an absorbent material; andan active agent in said absorbent body,wherein said absorbent pad releases said active agent in the container upon contact with water, andwherein said active agent prolongs the life of the cut flower.2. A hanger for hanging of garlands and the like around a doorway can be removably placed within, a doorway, where it is secured by pressure and friction, thereby avoiding any damage to the door or door frame. The hanger includes outward extensions that extend outward of the door frame to permit hanging of garlands and the like on either side of the doorway. The hanger may also include one or more central extensions for supporting the garlands or the like centrally above the doorway so that the garland or the like does not hang downward too much, thus keeping the doorway clear. The hanger can also be a part of the decoration, around the doorway. Various configurations of the hanger may fit different widths of door frames, including a wide range of door frame widths, and features of the hanger provide additional flexibility for different, door configurations including sidelights.

A floral preservation apparatus operable to prolong the freshness of cut flowers utilizing a pressurized container to facilitate the introduction of fluid into cut flower stalks. The floral preservation apparatus includes a container having an interior volume with an opening providing access thereto. An insert is releasably secured into the container through the opening. Disposed across the insert is a sealing membrane having a plurality of downwardly extending nipples. The sealing membrane and insert provide a hermetic seal of the interior volume. Cut flower stalks are journaled through the nipples and collapsible walls of the nipples bias against the cut flower stalks providing a hermetic seal therearound. A pressure bulb is operably attached to the container so as to provide pressurization to the interior volume of the container. 1. A binding wrap for maintaining the hydration of cut flowers is disclosed. The wrap is formed by folding a flexible, absorbent sheet over and around the stems of cut flowers. An assembly of a bouquet of cut flowers with a flexible, absorbent binding wrap folded around its stems is also disclosed as is a method of forming such a wrap. 1. A method of maintaining hydration in a bunch of cut flowers , the method comprising the steps ofproviding a binding wrap comprising a sheet of flexible, absorbent material;folding an upper part of the binding wrap around the stems of the flowers;folding a lower part of the binding wrap upwards over the ends of the flower stems and around the upper part of the binding wrap;folding an upper portion of the upper part downwards over the lower part to thereby retain it.2. Disclosed is a plant stripper for separating buds or fruit from the stems or branches of a plant. In one embodiment, the plant stripper is defined by a housing that contains a face plate, bladed rollers, and motor and gear system for counter turning the rollers. In operation, a plant stem bearing buds or fruit may be provided through a plant hole in the face plate and gripped by the counter turning rollers so that continued counter turning of the rollers pulls the stems or plants through the plant hole of the face plate. Suitably, the plant hole is gauged so that only the stem may pass through the hole but not the buds or fruit whereby the buds or fruit of the plant are stripped from the plant via action of the stem through the plant hole. Floating grid arrangement to support and position decorative elements

A plastic grid or framework arrangement is used to support and position a series of bowls that hold flower arrangements, candles, letters, and other decorative elements. This grid is deployable in water fountains, indoor and outdoor pools, and other small bodies of water during festive occasions or for longer term decorative display. A special feature of this invention is that the grid itself does not float and is positioned below the surface of the water, and thus is not readily visible. Buoyancy is provided at the hubs that form nodes in the grid. The hubs also support floating bowls containing various decorative elements. The resulting effect is that the various decorative elements appear to be floating on the surface while the sub-surface grid structure maintains their relative positioning, keeping the bowls from clumping together at the edges or in the corners of the pool or fountain. The framework can take the form of a grid or ring or other shapes and can be assembled quickly from a kit of components and can be easily dis-assembled and stored for future use.

A modular flower panel adapter system is implemented in which individual flower panels are collectively utilized to hold and feature an arrangement of flowers. The flower panels, which are already holding an arrangement of flowers, are transportable using an adapter panel and a delivery cage. The adapter provides greater surface area for transportation and handling of the flower panel. A rack system and delivery cage are implemented to transport the combined unit of the flower panel and the adapter panel to an event. At the event, the adapter panel is disconnected and the flower panel is connected to a structural panel and support panel for assembly. For forming a “wheatsheaf” bunch of flowers, a bundle of stems is twisted. For that purpose, use is made of a first and second rotatable receiving unit which keep flowers or groups of flowers separated from each other transversely to the axial direction relative to a rotation axis of the receiving unit. A multiplicity of stems are introduced in lying orientation in axial direction relative to the rotation axis into the receiving units, with a part of each bouquet component extending over a distance between the first and second rotatable receiving unit. The first receiving unit is rotated between the feeding of different bouquet components, while the second receiving unit rotates substantially along with the first receiving unit. The system uses thermoelectric modules, heat exchangers, fans, power supply, and a thermal conductor to cool and/or heat the water in a flower vase as required. By cooling the water, formation of algae and formation of a callus on the cut stem is reduced. In addition, keeping the stems in water of optimal temperature controls production of ethylene and other phytohormones. These effects prevent premature wilting, leaf abscission, flower senescence, and reduces the care required to maximize the life of cut flowers and other flora. A typical application would be to process a plant to leave only trimmed buds and flowers for use in potpourri, fragrant sashes, or as a prelude to further processing of essential oils. The utilities enable faster and safer production of plant material than prior plant processing machines. The utilities employ a coaxial drum and cutting element that counter rotate.
