This invention relates to a high efficiency apparatus for manufacturing an aqueous wood smoke solution in the form of a liquid smoke desired concentration, and a method of obtaining such aqueous solution using the same apparatus by burning wood, wooden chips or sawdust in a limited amount of air. The apparatus and process disclosed herein is simple, safe, and clean. Wood consumption per unit of liquid smoke is significantly smaller comparing to conventional methods, while the air pollution is reduced to a negligible level.

A lid of the food smoker may include downward pointing protrusions to control dripping onto food being smoked. This self-basting feature reduces the need to open the food smoker to baste the food smoking. The food smoker may include a ceramic chip bowl to reduce the rate of consumption of wood chips used to add flavoring to the food being smoked. This further reduces the need to open the food smoker. The housing of the smoker may be constructed with inner and outer walls, minimizing the heat loss during the cooking process. In combination, these features result in an improved food smoker that requires less user interaction than traditional systems. Moreover, the food smoker may need to be opened fewer times during the smoking process, which reduces heat loss and thus leads to greater energy efficiency.

Smokers can enclose smoking subjects for production of trapped smoke with limited airflow. Optimal airflow rates and resulting smoking effects can be achieved through smokers. If a smoker has approximately 60 cubic inches volume, four 2-millimeter holes at an air inlet point achieves desired airflow and oxygen consumption in typical fills and cooking temperatures. Smokers may include a lid or other seal or access point to permit placement and enclosure of smoking materials. Smokers are useable with conventional grills and may be shaped to sit on grill racks without blocking desired airflow by grill components or smoking materials. Smokers may include a detachable handle for safer handling and heating.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus of processing porkhide dog chews. The method includes the step of first subjecting pigskin rawhide to defatting and depilation treatment. A barbecue grill smoker assembly ( 10 ) is disclosed including fuel grate handles ( 21 ) and food grate handles ( 31 ) connected to components internal to the cooking chamber of the grill smoker defined by the firebox base ( 11 ) but extending outward beyond the cooking chamber in order to allow for manipulation of the components within the grill smoker using clean and cool handles. The present invention comprises a novel grill top device generally consisting of a trapezoidal prism-like body and an accompanying lid. The body will be placed on top of a preexisting grill or heat source which allows users to cook with their own grills. A solid fuel smoker oven having a cooking chamber and a heat source chamber separated by a vertical divider. The heat source chamber includes a gas fired firebox to burn solid fuel. The cooking chamber comprises air channels defined by perforated wall panels comprising calibrated orifices that vary in size from the top of the channel to the bottom to allow air flow and temperatures inside the cooking chamber to be balanced. A fan in the cooking chamber draws heat and smoke emissions from the firebox and directs them into the air channels and recycles the heated air and smoke through the heat source chamber, which limits heat and smoke escape and maximizes temperature stability inside the oven. The fan also functions as a spark arrestor.

A gravity fed smoker includes a smoking enclosure and an external stack. The stack is double walled with an inner wall, and an outer wall. A vented cooling space exists between the inner wall and the outer wall. An inner chamber of the external stack includes a fire box with a fire grate and a feed hopper positioned above the fire box. A smoke tunnel with a series of openings for releasing smoke into the smoking enclosure extends along the bottom of the food smoking enclosure and is connected to the external fire box at one end. Fuel, including charcoal, lump coal, or wood pellets, is loaded into the feed hopper. As the fuel burns on the fire grate and turns to ashes, the fuel is fed from the hopper onto the fire grate by gravity. A fan and dampers controls air flow through the fire grate and into the smoke tunnel.

A smoker includes a smoke generator that is configured to provide a controllable method of producing smoke without creating a flame. The device includes a housing including a hopper for storing a smoking fuel within the interior of the housing. The hopper feeds the smoking fuel to a fuel conveyor that is partially within the housing and partially exterior of the housing. A motor is connected to the fuel conveyor so that operation of the motor causes the smoking fuel to move along the length of the fuel conveyor. In some examples, the heat source can be a gas flame source, such as either propane or liquid natural gas. 1. A pressurized smoker , comprising:a pressure chamber configured to enclose food to be cooked;a source of pressurized gases in fluid communication with the pressure chamber; anda heat source secured in association with the pressure chamber to increase temperatures within the pressure chamber.2. The pressurized smoker of claim 1 , wherein the source of pressurized gases includes an internal combustion engine.3. The pressurized smoker of claim 2 , wherein the pressurized gases from the exhaust of the internal combustion engine are communicated to the pressure chamber through a conduit.4. The pressurized smoker of claim 3 , further comprising a pressure regulator valve operatively coupled to the pressure chamber to maintain pressure within the pressure chamber at between approximately 1 and 20 psi.5. The pressurized smoker of claim 4 , wherein the pressure regulator valve maintains pressure within the pressure chamber at between approximately 7 and 15 psi.6. The pressurized smoker of claim 3 , wherein the pressurized gases from the exhaust of the internal combustion engine are at a temperature between 100° F. to 600° F.7. The pressurized smoker of claim 2 , wherein the internal combustion engine burns propane for fuel.8. A grill smoker apparatus provides a container and a cover. A carrier is disposed in the container. The carrier is configured to store smoke producing material such as wood chips. The carrier may be removable from the container for filling the container, for emptying the container, for replacing the container or for cleaning the smoker apparatus. The carrier includes an outer dimension smaller than the inner dimension of the container. As such, a carrier gap is defined between the inner container wall and the outer region of the carrier. The carrier gap may form a uniform, annular gap in some embodiments. Alternatively, the carrier gap has a non-uniform radial dimension around the perimeter of the container. The carrier gap provides enhanced airflow to the smoke producing material in the carrier for improving smoker performance. A heat concentrator also focuses heat to the smoker apparatus for igniting the smoke producing material. 1. A grill smoker apparatus , comprising:a container;a cover disposed on the container;a carrier disposed in the container, the carrier including a plurality of carrier holes for allowing air passage into the carrier; anda carrier gap defined between the container and the carrier, the carrier gap configured to allow air to flow between the container and the carrier.2.
