The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a system and method of preparing personalized nutritional and/or pharmaceutical formulations using additive manufacturing technology. Active pharmaceutical or dietary supplement ingredients are suspended in thixotropic stable carrier medias. The thixotropic suspensions are deposited onto a surface of a solid substrate, which can be a snack bar or small wafer used as a mechanical carrier. The disclosed system enables each additive active ingredient to be variably dosed based on a formula that is determined for each specific individual and manufactured on demand. Once the active ingredients are deposited on substrate, the entire assembly can be enrobed with one or more edible solid coatings to seal the active ingredients and provide taste-masking agent characteristics to the assembly. 1. A solid assembly for oral consumption , the assembly comprising:a substrate defining one or more depressions;one or more suspensions deposited within the depressions of the solid substrate, wherein each suspension comprises a homogenous dispersion of one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and a carrier,wherein each suspension is viscous and/or thixotropic;one or more coatings applied over one or more surfaces of the solid substrate;wherein each API is variably dosed based on a formula that is determined for each subject consuming the solid assembly.2. The streams ( 40 ) are partially cooled and relatively low viscosity second material ( 38 ) is applied thereover adjacent the secondary rake ( 20 ). At the secondary rake ( 20 ), the second material ( 38 ) is pulled through the rake apertures to form continuous streams or sections ( 42 ) of the material ( 36 ) disposed around the inner sections formed by the streams ( 40 ). The composite streams are then cooled in the tunnel ( 22 ) and cut by the device ( 24 ).

A method and apparatus for producing laminated products, such as candy, is disclosed. The method includes the steps of continuously forming a semifluid sheet of a first material on a longitudinally extending conveyor, depositing a semifluid second material on the sheet of the first material, continuously rolling the sheet from the edges thereof inwardly to form a double roll extending longitudinally along the conveyor, and flattening the roll into a laminated sheet product. The method further includes the steps of forming the sheet into a "rope" of substantially smaller width than the sheet by folding the sheet over itself from the edges of the sheet and allowing the rope to move transversely across a slower moving conveyor so that the rope bunches up on the conveyor. The rope is then flattened by a roller. The method also includes the step of causing the sheet to longitudinally fold over itself so as to form laminations. Addtionally, the method includes the steps of dividing the laminated sheet product into longitudinally extending strips and transversely dividing the strips into individual product pieces. Apparatus for achieving the method is also disclosed.

@ A method and apparatus for producing laminated products, such as candy, is disclosed. The method includes the steps of continuously forming a semifluid sheet of a first material on a longitudinally extending conveyor, depositing a semifluid second material on the sheet of the first material, continuously rolling the sheet from the edges thereof inwardly to form a double roll extending longitudinally along the conveyor, and flattening the roll into a laminated sheet product. The method further includes the steps of forming the sheet into a «rope» of substantially smaller width than the sheet by folding the sheet over itself from the edges of the sheet and allowing the rope to move transverely across a slower mowing conveyor so that the rope bunches up on the conveyor. The rope is then flattened by a roller. The method also includes the step of causing the sheet to longitudinally fold over itself so as to form laminations. Additionally, the method includes the steps of divinding the laminated sheet product into longitudinally extending strips and transversely dividing the strips into individual product pieces. The invention concerns a method of constructing a plastic rope used in the manufacture of hard bonbons with a stratified core that is made out of multiple layers of plastic sugar and plastic filling. The ropes are brought independently of one another to a predetermined thickness and width. Plastic filling is constantly applied to at least one of the ropes and rolled into it from the side in such a way as to produce a tube that is closed into itself and that, after being dimensioned, is pushed along laterally into the rope of plastic coating with the edges overlapping in such a way that they adhere together. The accordingly prepared ropes are then introduced together into a rope shaper (conical roller), stretched farther horizontally if necessary, and supplied to the cutting machine.
