In the equipment, serving for emptying of a series of at least two receivers switched in series after each other, the emptying pipes are arranged at the bottom of the receivers, through a common tube shaped as a commuting pipe equipped with a pump, and a throttle valve for each couple of receivers. The pump is located deeper than the overflow part of the emptying pipe, and the output of pump is higher than the volume of liquid flowing through the emptying pipes, taking into account the differences in pressures, the cross section of pipes and the viscosity of liquids concerned. Advantages over conventional, manually controlled emptying device for receivers of this kind is the possibility of a continuous operation, simpler method of removing the emptied liquid, low space requirement, and considerable saving in personnel needed.

[Also in Division B8] Moulds are stamped from a foil of aluminium or the like by means of dies 2 and 4 which co-operate with counter-dies 1 and 11, the left-hand edge 4 of a die 4 co-operating with the right-hand base contour of counter-die 1 as shown in Fig. 8. In operation, the foil 5 is moved over counter-die 1 and die 4 lowered, the edge 4a pulling the foil over the right-hand side of counter-die 1 to pre-stamp it. Die 2 is then lowered to completely pre-stamp the mould as shown in Fig. 3, both dies being subsequently raised and the foil indexed to the right so that the mould just formed is seated on counter die 11. Die 4 is then relowered to re-stamp the formed mould and to pre-stamp the right-hand side of the next mould, the cycle then being repeated as before. Further dies may be provided to finally stamp the moulds. During the prestamping steps splitting or creasing of the mould at the crown of the counter-die is prevented due to the fact that more foil may be drawn from the left. In a modification, see Fig. 12, the foil is partially pre-stamped by a half-die 32 carried by die 44 and then fully pre-stamped by half-die 42, the foils being subsequently restamped as before. Moulds formed by the above process may be filled with material, superimposed, and joined by mechanical crimping or welding, the edge thus formed being subsequently bent back flush with the surface of the closed filled mould thus formed. The filled moulds may be cut in pairs from the sheet and each mould placed in one half of a folding frame carrying co-operating crimping devices, the frame being subsequently closed to superimpose the moulds and to effect the crimping.

Packaged food portions, such as food slices, consisting of two or more food items, such as peanut butter and jelly, and processes for making them. The food portion is provided with sufficient viscosity and textural properties to enable its formation into a cohesive mass which can be extruded while maintaining the individual identity and organoleptic attributes of each food item within the food portion. The food portion may be shaped into a slice or other configuration prior to or during its encasing within a flexible packaging material. Product formulations which provide for minimal moisture migration between the different food items within the food portion and for optimum product stability, as well as processes and methods for providing and processing these formulations, are also disclosed.

Procedimiento de embalaje de alto rendimiento para el embalaje de productos, especialmente de pequenas dimensiones, preferentemente golosinas tales como caramelos duros o blandos, bombones o similares, introduciendose los productos (7) en una pluralidad de flujos de productos (A, B) mediante al menos un equipo de embalaje (1) con al menos un dispositivo de embalaje (10), presentando el al menos un dispositivo de embalaje (10) una pluralidad de unidades de embalaje que constan de medios de retencion de productos/material de embalaje, estando cada unidad de embalaje asignada a un flujo de productos (A, B) de productos (7) aislados, estandole asignado a cada producto (7) dentro de un flujo de productos (A, B) en el equipo de embalaje (1) una pieza de material de embalaje, y embalandose los productos (7) de varios flujos de productos en un proceso continuo y/o intermitente y/o procesandose los flujos de productos con un numero diferente de dispositivos, caracterizado porque en cada caso, en un solo cabezal o una sola rueda giratorios se preven unidades de embalaje asignadas a una pluralidad de flujos de productos, procesandose los flujos de productos (A, B) simultaneamente, en esencia en paralelo y/o en la misma direccion, de acuerdo con el principio de circuitos que se desarrollan unos en otros de cabezales o ruedas que cooperan y suministrandose el material de embalaje al equipo de embalaje (1) a alta velocidad, en esencia radialmente respecto al cabezal o a la rueda respectivos como cinta de material de embalaje, reteniendose esta en el equipo de embalaje (1) y separandose una seccion de material de embalaje (8) o separandose secciones de material de embalaje (8) desde una via de material de embalaje antes de introducirlas en el equipo de embalaje (1) y suministrandosele al equipo de embalaje (1) secciones de material de embalaje (8), en esencia de forma radial y aislada respecto al cabezal o a la rueda respectivos.
