    Antimicrobial gloves such as those made of natural rubber latex may be manufactured by incorporating an antimicrobially effective amount of a non-ionic, sparingly water soluble antimicrobial agent, such as 2,4,4'-tricloro-2'-hydroxyphenyl ether, into the glove material prior to forming the glove. The antimicrobial agent may be present in amounts ranging from 0.1 to 10% by weight of the antimicrobial agent. The wearer contacting surface of the glove may also be dusted with a powder containing an antimicrobial effective amount of an antimicrobial agent such as chlorhexidine digluconate. The powder may comprise a complex of chlorhexidine digluconate and cyclodextrin.

    A visor system for a surgical hood is provided. The system includes a base film and one or more removable films that are mechanical bonded (e.g., via ultrasonic energy and pressure, which allows ethylene oxide gas to penetrate between the films to provide for a “new” sterile surface should the surgeon elect to peel away a soiled or splattered removable film during the course of a surgical procedure so that an unobstructed view can be maintained. The mechanical bond points are intermittent rather than continuous so that the perimeter of the visor is not sealed, thus allowing for adequate ethylene oxide gas penetration and exposure to each of the films. Further, because the bond points are located about the perimeter of the removable films, viewing is not obscured, yet the layers are held securely in place until easily removed from the underlying removable film or base film.

    Protective garments are disclosed having an inner lining with high lubricity and high strength characteristics. The inner lining, in one embodiment, contains spun yarns combined with para-aramid multifilament yarns. The spun yarns may also contain flame resistant fibers, such as meta-aramid fibers, FR cellulose fibers, or mixtures thereof. The para-aramid filament yarns provide excellent strength characteristics to the fabric. In addition, in some embodiments, the multifilament yarns may enhance the fire resistant properties of the fabric. In one embodiment, the para-aramid filament yarns may have less than five twists per inch, such as from about 1 twist per inch to about four twists per inch.

The system includes a base film and one or more removable films that are mechanical bonded (e.g., via ultrasonic energy and pressure, which allows ethylene oxide gas to penetrate between the films to provide for a "new" sterile surface should the surgeon elect to peel away a soiled or splattered removable film during the course of a surgical procedure so that an unobstructed view can be maintained. The mechanical bond points are intermittent rather than continuous so that the perimeter of the visor is not sealed, thus allowing for adequate ethylene oxide gas penetration and exposure to each of the films. Further, because the bond points are located about the perimeter of the removable films, viewing is not obscured, yet the layers are held securely in place until easily removed from the underlying removable film or base film.

More specifically, the elastic film is formed from one or more low density semi-crystalline propylene-based polymers that possess a unique combination of mechanical, elastic, and oil-resistant properties. By using such elastomeric polymers, the resulting elastic film may also be thermally bonded to the nonwoven web material(s) without the need for oil-resistant adhesives. Further, the bonding conditions may be selected so that apertures do not form in the film. In this manner, the resulting composite is impervious to oils or other liquids (e.g., solvents, water, solutions, etc.) and thus acts as a barrier during use.

    본 발명은 폴리프로필렌 수지를 유동 제어하여 방사한 다층 부직포 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 상기 본 발명의 폴리프로필렌 수지를 유동 제어하여 방사한 다층 부직포의 제조방법은 멜트블로운 층을 포함하는 다층 구조의 부직포 제조에 있어서, 용융지수(MI) 20 내지 80g/10분인 폴리프로필렌을 사용하며, 착색을 하기 위해서 안료를 포함하는 용융지수(MI)가 0.1 내지 80g/10분의 폴리프로필렌를 팔렛 형으로 만든 마스터배치(master batch)를 함께 사용하여 동일수준의 용융지수를 갖게 하므로 용융지수의 차이를 없게 하고, 상기 폴리프로필렌 및 마스터배치와 함께 MI 증가제를 익스트루더(Extruder)투입하여 융용지수(MI)가 20 내지 80g/10분으로 마스터배치와 혼합된 폴리프로필렌 수지를 효과적인 멜트블로운 웹 방사가 가능한 용융지수(MI)인 800 내지 1300g/10분으로 상승시켜 다수개의 오리피스로 방사하며, 이때 구금의 양쪽에서 강한 열풍으로 불어주어 극세사로 연신하면서 연속된 벨트 상에서 적층하므로 MI 차이에 의한 수지의 불균일한 흐름성이 없는 멜트블로운 웹 층을 형성하고, 열압착하여 스판본드와 멜트블로운의 다층 부직포를 제조함을 특징으로 한다.
