The cases include a multi component structure that defines a compartment that is dimensioned to receive a mobile device and includes one or more shock absorber elements embedded within its side walls. The multi-component construct may be configured as a standalone case or sleeve that reversibly fits within another external component or shell. The shock absorber element may be formed in multiple segments and may be formed of a softer material than adjacent regions of the case and co-molded into a channel in a supporting wall component that is formed of a more rigid material. The shock absorber component may have one or more channels formed in its outer surface and may extend internally into the device compartment to form relatively soft corner pads or cushions. When a shell is employed additional level of protection to the mobile device may be provided. The shell may have transparent side walls that allow visibility to the shock absorber elements so that the user can perceive the protective construction of the case. A screen protector lid that retentively snaps into and out of the case or sleeve so as to provide additional protection to the mobile device is also disclosed. The method includes: attaching a rigid material to a resilient material; dimensioning both the rigid material and the resilient material to contain an electronic device; configuring the rigid material, but not the resilient material, to cover most or all of a back portion of the electronic device; and providing an opening to allow a screen portion of the electronic device to be accessed through the opening in the rigid and resilient material.

An arm band case for portable electronic device is disclosed. The arm band case may be secured to the user with straps and includes a pocket having a transparent window that provides visibility to the touchscreen of the electronic device and a plurality of powered light sources that are configured to illuminate the arm band and thereby provide added visibility to the user when in use. The arm band case is formed of multiple layers that encapsulate the light sources while allowing access to the battery housed therein and while facilitating the transmission and dispersion of light to illuminate the arm band. 1. A headphone case is provided that serves as both a case for storing headphones and other objects, and a cushion to be worn around the neck. The case has either a fixed cushion located on different parts of the case, or a material that can be inflated, where the material has an outside layer comprising a cushion material. The case has two halves, a top half and lower half, which are held together by one or more hinges or other means. The headphone case can have a control unit for electronically inflating the material on the case, and for controlling units inside the case for controlling an amount and intensity of heat and vibration.
