The present invention relates to direct dyes of azomethine type of formula (I) below; and also to the use thereof for dyeing keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as the hair. The invention also relates to a composition for dyeing keratin fibres, comprising such direct dyes in a suitable dyeing medium.
