An adjustable device for supporting a load includes a belt for fastening about a user's waist. A rod includes two rigid elements. One of the elements is longitudinally slidable relative to the other element so as to adjust a length of the rod. A lower end of the rod is attachable to the belt and an upper section of the rod is attachable to a shoulder harness that is placeable on the user's shoulders for carrying the load. A control is operable by the user when carrying the load to unlock a locking mechanism that, when locked, fixes the length of the rod. A backpack support system has a frame, which is equipped with shoulder straps and preferably also a waist belt and which preferably inherently rigid so hat the loads that occur during use, the frame only flexes by inevitable amounts in the millimeter range by which any rigid body flexes when subjected to a load. A bike mount is fastened to the frame. The bike mount is embodied so that the bike, almost exclusively by its frame or frame components such as the rear fork can be fastened directly to the frame, i.e. without luggage or a pack compartment being situated between the bike and the frame in the points at which the bike rests directly against the frame. When properly fastened, the bike is thus affixed to the frame so that it cannot move.

A personal garment apparatus having a thin, light, shoulder harness like structure resembling a book bag. The harness is to be worn over the shoulders and includes pockets protruding from users chest and a mechanical cellphone holder with a tilt function located respectfully under users ear providing user ability to talk on cellphone without holding. A personal article carrying system comprising:A horizontal torso strap having two ends a vertical left shoulder member wherein top of said left shoulder member connects to a predetermined location on about middle of said torso strap and bottom of said left shoulder connect to first end of said torso strap thereby forming a loop and a vertical right shoulder member wherein top so said right shoulder member connects to a predetermined location on about middle of said torso strap and bottom of said right shoulder member connects to second end of said torso strap thereby forming a loopA plurality of pockets attached to said shoulder members wherein at least one said pocket is attached to said shoulder members at predetermined locationA mechanical cellphone holder means for substantially holding and tilting cellphone2. A subassembly is disclosed. The subassembly includes a cradle portion defining a cavity and a spine portion. The spine portion includes a lower portion, an intermediate portion and an upper portion located between the lower portion and the upper portion. The lower portion of the spine extends into the cavity by way of an opening formed by the cradle portion. The lower portion of the spine is non-removably-coupled to and free-floatingly-disposed within the cavity of the cradle portion. The intermediate portion and the upper portion of the spine portion are connected to a load-interfacing portion. A carrier system is also disclosed. An assembly is also disclosed. 1. A subassembly , comprising:a cradle portion defining a cavity; anda spine portion including a lower portion, an intermediate portion and an upper portion located between the lower portion and the upper portion, wherein the lower portion of the spine extends into the cavity by way of an opening formed by the cradle portion, wherein the lower portion of the spine is coupled to and floatingly-disposed within the cavity of the cradle portion, wherein the intermediate portion and the upper portion of the spine portion are connected to a load-interfacing portion.2. The subassembly of claim 1 , wherein the cradle portion includes:a first cradle portion half joined toa second cradle portion half, wherein each of the first cradle portion half and the second cradle portion half includes a substantially rigid body portion having a base portion and a pair of guide members extending from the base portion, wherein the pair of guide members includes a first guide member and a second guide member arranged in a spaced-apart relationship defining a non-constant spacing that defines the cavity.3.
