A coaster

A coaster for a container such as a glass, with a non-absorbent base 2 with an upstanding liquid absorbent edge 1, where the inner surface of the absorbent edge grips the exterior of the glass so that the coaster remains attached to the base of the glass when the glass is lifted. The liquid absorbent edge absorbs condensation and/or slight spillage that may run down the exterior surface of a lifted glass, thereby protecting surfaces from being stained and damage. Preferably the non absorbent base 2 is made from a non-absorbent fabric that covers the outer surface of the absorbent edge to avoid spillage or dripping from the coaster.

This invention is concerned with a coaster for drinking cups comprising: a circular wall section; a base section enclosed within said wall section; a first rim means projecting upwardly from the base section and extending from the wall section toward the center of the coaster; a second rim means shorter in length than, but equal in height to, the first rib means, the second rim means projecting upwardly from the base and extending from the wall section towards the center of the coaster; the first and second rib means positioned so that a cup placed within the coaster may contact the top portion of each upwardly projecting rib means; the first and second rib means being separated an effective droplet removing distance from each other at a point approximately where both rib means contact the wall section. By appropriately spacing the rib means, condensation droplets that are formed on a drinking cup can conveniently pass from the cup into the coaster.

COASTER FOR COUPLING TO A CUP

A coaster is structured to be coupled to a conventional cup, such as an iced beverage cup, using a conventional cup sleeve. The coaster includes a generally disk shaped base having an outer perimeter. Two or more elongate tethers extend outwardly from the outer perimeter of the base. The coaster assumes a combination-ready configuration with the two or more elongate tethers extending generally upright and outwardly to a same side of the base, in such a way that the coaster fits snugly within a conventional cup sleeve. In a final combination configuration with a cup sleeve, the coaster combines with the cup sleeve to create an insulating and water absorptive coaster and sleeve, frictionally and snugly coupled to the cup in a robust manner to make the coaster highly portable together with the cup and cup sleeve, and configured to collect condensation formed on the exterior surface of the cup. 1. Different liquid containing vessels with integrated coasters are provided. The liquid containing vessels have an upper portion, channel, base, and integrated coaster. The upper portion retains some amount of liquid. The channel is disposed beneath the upper portion and above the above the base. The channel is formed from a central stem connecting the upper portion to the base and a cavity that surrounds the stem for some radius that is less than a radius of the upper portion or base. Disposed in the channel is the integrated coaster. The integrated coaster is a trapping element that in some embodiments is a solid porous ring of an adsorptive or absorptive material. Condensation forming about the outer surface of the upper portion drips downwards towards the channel. The channel redirects the condensation to the trapping element where it is removed by the adsorptive or absorptive materials.

A disposable cover for a tablemat or coaster that completely envelopes the tablemat or coaster. The cover acts as an envelope with a gusset, capable of expanding into a thin box like container that is sized to receive various sized tablemats and coasters. The gussets have a central longitudinal fold to allow for flat packing. The open end of the cover may have a flap as part of the extended top surface of the cover; the inner surface of the flap has a self sealing adhesive strip. The cover may be printed, embossed or embellished to for different functions or occasions, that allow existing tablemats and coasters that are worn and outdate to be reused. An active foodware system includes a mechanical structure and provides visual stimuli, heating of food, and wireless communication by having a power source, a visual stimulating component, a heating component, and a wireless communication component. Other components can provide sensing, data processing, as well as auditory and haptic stimuli. The mechanical structure can be a single unit where the components and circuitry are all contained in the unit and protected from water, or can be two units: an upper food surface for receiving food, and an underplate comprising components and circuitry. 1. CONTINUOUS DOILY ROLL WITH INDEX MARKS / PERFORATIONS ALLOWING DISPENSATION OF DOILIES IN CUSTOMIZED SIZES

This invention relates to doilies that come on a continuous roll with index marks or perforations that allow the user to create doily presentations in individually customized dimensions, both as to length and width. The user may use a single doily roll to create multiple desired doily applications, each with unique optimal dimensions. Customized doily applications are not limited to the width of the source doily material, as multiple widths of doily material may be attached to create wide doily applications that still match perfectly. The user is also able to easily replace a small damaged doily section with a new section that perfectly matches the removed section as to dimension and pattern design, reducing waste. 1. A continuous length of doily material comprised of a plurality of individual doily panels , wherein said individual doily panels are separable from said doily material by cutting along index marks , enabling the user to transform the original shape of said doily material into a customized doily presentation.2. As opposed to conventional table covers, the table cover provides a flexible, unitary cover with excellent surface properties for dining and work space. Further, the bottom surface establishes a non-slip contact with the table surface to prevent the cover from sliding around of off of the table. Different liquid containing vessels with integrated coasters are provided. The liquid containing vessels have an upper portion, channel, base, and integrated coaster. The upper portion retains some amount of liquid. The channel is disposed beneath the upper portion and above the above the base. The channel is formed from a central stem connecting the upper portion to the base and a cavity that surrounds the stem for some radius that is less than a radius of the upper portion or base. Disposed in the channel is the integrated coaster. The integrated coaster is a trapping element that in some embodiments is a solid porous ring of an adsorptive or absorptive material. Condensation forming about the outer surface of the upper portion drips downwards towards the channel. The present invention is directed generally to an apparatus to insulate beverage containers, and more particularly to a design which may sustain a temperature gradient from the ambient over a designed time frame. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the insulated beverage container when housing a cooled liquid beverage initially in the range of 40 degrees Fahrenheit and ambient temperature no more than 80 degrees, the temperature of the liquid beverage will not rise more than 10 degrees for a period of 45 minutes with the insulating cap sealing the beverage container. Similarly, the same insulated beverage container when housing a heated beverage initially in the range of 160 degrees Fahrenheit, and ambient temperature no less than 20 degrees, the temperature of the liquid beverage may not cool more than 10 degrees for a period of 45 minutes with the insulating cap sealing the beverage container. 1. A system having a beverage coaster with a receiving coil that can be magnetically coupled or decoupled from a driving coil in a counter, table, bar, and the like. The coaster may be magnetically coupled to the table by moving the coaster into an area where the driving coil generates a magnetic field of sufficient strength. The coaster also includes a switch that activated or deactivated based on its proximity to a magnet in the table. The coaster has a metallic plate on which may be positioned a beverage container. The plate is thermally and mechanically coupled to a Peltier cell that either cools or heats the plate, depending on the state of the switch. A thermostat prevents beverage overheating. A second magnetic switch powers the driving coil only if the coaster is present and aligned with the driving coil.

A condensation resistant coaster , comprising:a coaster main body including a top surface having substantially flat structure to allow a beverage container to be placed thereupon; anda plurality of crystals disposed on an entirety of the top surface and an entirety of a bottom surface of the coaster main body to absorb moisture condensation from the beverage container.2. The condensation resistant coaster of claim 1 , further comprising:a base disposed on a bottom surface of the coaster main body to provide friction between the condensation resistant coaster and a surface upon which the condensation resistant coaster is placed.3. The claimed subject matter provides a folding tray that includes a hygienic surface within the internal portion that is shielded from contamination in a folded configuration. The folding tray includes two symmetrical halves joined by a spine that allows the folding tray to close. The folding tray can include one or more inserted surfaces overlapping at least a portion of the two symmetrical halves on one side of the folding tray. The inserted surfaces can be folded into the folding tray in a folded state. The inserted surfaces can be removable or include a plurality of stacked sheets that are individually removable. The folding tray can be used to isolate materials on the tray from contaminants under the tray, or protect a material beneath the tray from contaminants on the tray.

A multi-layered napkin is provided that is designed to protect a tabletop from condensation that develops at the bottom of a beverage. The upper layer comprises a porous material that is adapted to allow condensation to pass therethrough and into the middle layer of the napkin. The middle layer comprises an absorbent construction that retains liquid that passes through from the upper layer and prevents the napkin assembly from sticking onto the underside of a beverage container. The flexible mat may have a mat body characterized by a front side, a back side and a thickness; and a plurality of anchors. Each anchor may include an anchor block having an aperture configured to receive a tether, and a suction cup. Beverage Heater

A system having a beverage coaster with a receiving coil that can be magnetically coupled or decoupled from a driving coil in a counter, table, bar, and the like. The coaster may be magnetically coupled to the table by moving the coaster into an area where the driving coil generates a magnetic field of sufficient strength. The coaster also includes a switch that activated or deactivated based on its proximity to a magnet in the table. The coaster has a metallic plate on which may be positioned a beverage container. The coaster units are separated by visually perceptible separation lines, which may be perforated to facilitate separation of the coaster units so that when the coaster units are separated they are usable as drink coasters. The present disclosure discloses an electronic coaster, comprising at least one first imaging sensor to capture at least one first image of a beverage present in a beverage holder placed on the electronic coaster, at least one second imaging sensor to capture at least one second image of ambience around the electronic coaster and a computing unit to receive the at least one first image and the at least one second image, process spectrum of the at least one first and second image for obtaining spectral signature of the beverage and compare the spectral signature of the beverage with predefined spectral signature of plurality of beverages to identify type of the beverage. 2. The electronic coaster as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the spectrum of the at least one second image is used to reduce ambient noise from the spectrum of the at least one first image.3. The electronic coaster as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the predefined spectral signature of plurality of beverages is stored in a database accessible by the electronic coaster.4. The electronic coaster as claimed in further comprising at least one biometric sensor to identify one or more users associated with the electronic coaster.5. Attachable Mobile Coaster

A beverage coaster that attaches itself to a beverage of choice, (glass, can, or bottle) enabling the coaster to be mobile while keeping the condensation from communicating with furniture, clothing, and tabletop items. The beverage coaster consists of an inner and outer layer such as 100% cotton. The two layers are cut in a circular shape and connected together in way that enables it to properly wrap the beverage of choice. In between the inner and outer layers elastic, a flexible and adjustable apparatus, is attached around the outer perimeters of the material. The elastic allows the beverage coaster to become attachable and adjustable. When the elastic is stretched, the coaster opens, welcoming the beverage. Once the beverage communicates with the bottom of the coaster, the elastic is released, adjusting itself to the size of the outer perimeters of the beverage container. This enables the coaster to attach itself and become mobile, continuously keeping condensation from coming in contact with furniture, tabletop items, hands, and clothing.

The wall is formed of a first material, such as a ceramic material, having a first thermal conductivity. The articles also has a shell (1; 5) spaced apart from the outer surface of the receptacle such as to define an interstitial chamber (2, 3) between the shell and the outer surface of the receptacle. The shell is at least partially formed of a ceramic material with a second thermal conductivity. Within the interstitial chamber, there is disposed a phase change material which abuts with at least the outer surface of the wall of the receptacle. The first thermal conductivity being greater than the second thermal conductivity, so as to allow for heat transfer through the wall to the phase change material, which will accumulate the heat.
