The brushes are supplied with water from a tank 9 through a pipe 10, and the used water is absorbed by the ribbon and pressed out by the rollers 5 to flow into a tank 8. When it is desired to wipe the floor only, a pedal-lever 16 is depressed, which acts through bell-cranks 11, 12 to lift the brushes off the floor, and may simultaneously close a cock 17 to cut off the water supply.

In yet a further embodiment, the apparatus is a scrubber with two counter rotating disk brushes, a primary squeegee, and a second or pre-squeegee for relieving the primary squeegee from processing the heavier concentration of wastewater produced in the area between the brushes. In yet another embodiment, the apparatus is a scrubber that includes a squeegee mounting systems that is relatively easy to use and permits the squeegee rubber to extend beyond the end of the mounting structure.
