A transparent electrodynamic screen (EDS) enables automatic removal of dust to protect and enhance performance of solar collectors and similar components. A pattern of transparent conductive electrodes are deposited over a glass or polymer outer surface of a solar collector, and embedded under a thin, transparent dielectric fluoropolymer film or silicon dioxide coating. When energized by three-phase voltages at frequencies in the range 5 to 20 Hz, the electrodes produce an oscillating electric field and a traveling electrodynamic wave that charges the particles on the surface and exerts coulomb and dielectrophoretic forces to lift the dust from the surface and transport it to an edge of the collector, thereby clearing the screen. A retainer for removably attaching a sheet to a cleaning device. The retainer has at least one cantilevered finger extending inwardly from the periphery of a cavity towards the inside of that cavity. Behind the retainer is a flexible barrier, at least partially covering the back of the cavity. The barrier prevents the user's finger from going too far into the cavity and becoming pinched, and allows the thickness of the device to which the sheet is attached to be reduced compared to a device having a conventional sheet retainer. The barrier may provide visual and/or tactile barrier cues to a user, qualitatively signaling the user which direction is proper for insertion of the sheet into the retainer and quantitatively signally the user how far the sheet should be inserted into the retainer. A flexible fabric is provided for converting a broom into a mop. The flexible fabric has a center hole and a periphery region sufficiently large to cover the bristles of a broom. A flat surface chamois mop device includes an elongated mop body having a flat bottom surface, and a malleable chamois cover. The chamois cover having a pocket section for receiving the mop body, and a flap for securing the mop body within the pocket section. The electromagnetic sweeper has many advantages over current magnetic sweepers. For example, one can turn off the electric current to release the ferrous material which has been captured by the sweeper. One does not have to pull off captured materials due to the use of electromagnets rather than permanent magnets. The device is also light weight and very easy to use. 1. The device allows one to release captured ferrous materials with the push of a button.2. The device allows one to collect ferrous materials by releasing them over a bucket.3. The device does not require one to bend over to pull the collected material off of the magnets.4. The device's push button operation means that one does not have to risk cutting one's fingers by manually removing captured ferrous material. Nail sweepers which use permanent magnets to collect ferrous debris have been commonly used tools for decades. The first device that we are aware of was Sojstrom's U.S. Pat. No. 2,426,795. His sweeper used permanent magnets to attract ferrous material, which was then removed by hand. This required the operator to pull off debris that was often sharp, which sometimes resulted in cut fingers or poked hands. An alternative design was present in Harrison et al.'s U.S. Pat. No. 6,464,083. Harrison et al.'s sweeper used a lever to pull a magnet, tucked inside a box, away from a non-magnetic plate. Once the magnet reached a large enough distance away from the non-magnetic plate, any ferrous material would be released. The core issues with this design are 1) that it required the use of a heavy and unwieldly box to house the magnet 2) it forces the operator to mechanically pull a lever to release the collected material, an action that is awkward to perform.Our sweeper uses electromagnets, which are controlled by an on/off switch, to collect ferrous materials. The device includes a substantially cylindrical oblong rigid extension member having a distal end upon which is formed an articulatable jaw structure, and an opposite proximal end including a hand-operable trigger for actuating the jaw structure between open and closed positions. A collector sock made from a pliable sheet material can be mounted upon the jaw structure. The sock has an open end and an opposite closed end. The inner surface of the sock surrounding its open end includes a plush surface which can conform to uneven or embossed surfaces on the fan blades. The sock can be mounted to the paddles of the jaw by folding the opening backward over the paddles to engage fasteners. When the jaw structure is in the open position, the open end of the mounted sock forms a maw for accepting the end of the fan blade therethrough. The maw can be translated over the fan blade until the sock enwraps essentially the entire fan blade. By allowing the jaw structure to return to the closed position, the maw collapses and the closely contacts the top, bottom and edge surfaces of the fan blade. As the closed jaw structure can be withdrawn from the fan blade so that the sock scrapes off and captures dust and other debris from the fan blade.

Wax is disposed in a wax pattern on the first surface; and oil is disposed in an oil pattern on the second surface. The oil pattern is not coincident the wax pattern so that wax blocks the oil from permeating through to the first surface. The first surface may be textured with peaks and valleys, having wax disposed on the peaks. This arrangement keeps the oil from contacting the target surface and leaving residue, while allowing the oil to collect and retain debris. A cleaning device having a cleaning head assembly and a handle assembly is provided. A grilling utensil comprising:A permanent body having a magnetic element and at least one protrusion;a replaceable tip having a proximate end and a distal end, the proximate end being opposite the distal end and defining one or more pilot holes and a magnetically susceptible element;wherein the magnetic element is arranged in the engagement portion and configured to attract the magnetically susceptible element to engage the proximate end to the permanent body, and wherein the protrusion is configured to engage with the pilot holes to mechanically couple the replaceable tip to the permanent body.2. The grilling utensil of claim 1 , wherein the distal end of the replaceable tip is defined by a beveled scraping edge.3. The grilling utensil of claim 1 , wherein the permanent body and the replaceable tip are made of a heat responsive material.4. An apparatus to retain an article includes a housing, a first jaw, a second opposed jaw, a pivoting ratchet arm, and a lever. The housing is adapted to receive a handle. The first jaw is adapted to pivot with respect to the housing. The pivoting ratchet arm is dimensioned to engage ratchet teeth of the first jaw when in an actuated position. The lever is connected to the ratchet arm and actuating the lever causes the ratchet arm to move into the actuated position to incrementally pivot the first jaw toward the second jaw. 1. An apparatus to retain an article , the apparatus comprising:a housing adapted to receive a handle;a first jaw and a second opposed jaw; wherein the first jaw is adapted to pivot with respect to the housing;a pivoting ratchet arm dimensioned to engage ratchet teeth of the first jaw when in an actuated position; anda lever connected to the ratchet arm, and wherein actuating the lever causes the ratchet arm to move into the actuated position to incrementally pivot the first jaw toward the second jaw.2. The apparatus of further including a lock dimensioned to engage the ratchet teeth of the first jaw; wherein the lock retains the first jaw in position after the lever is returned to a pre-actuated position.3. The apparatus of further including a release button claim 2 , wherein the release button is dimensioned to engage the lock claim 2 , and wherein actuating the release button pivots the lock away from the ratchet teeth of the first jaw and the first jaw is biased by a spring to pivot away from the second jaw.4. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the lock includes more than one flange and the distal end of the flanges are configured to engage the ratchet teeth of the first jaw.5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein a distal end of the ratchet arm is configured to pass between the flanges of the lock when the lever is actuated between the pre-actuated position and an actuated position.6. A reaching tool device is disclosed that enables users to reach the roof of their vehicle without any hassle. The reaching tool device comprises an elongated arm, a handle secured to the arm, and at least one interchangeable head secured to the arm, opposite the handle. The elongated arm can be telescopically extended lengthwise and secured in a desired position via a push-spring button. The handle is removably secured to an end of the elongated arm via a pivoting hinge which allows the arm to pivot about the handle.
